Inventory Manager (Sport Signage)
Mid Level
Amberg, Germanyin office
Full time
Job description
About the Role
This role sits within THE·TEAM's Sport Signage group, which specialises in racetrack and sports-event signage and offers end-to-end services from creative design and production to logistics, installation and software solutions. The Inventory Manager leads central Inventory & Asset Management in Amberg and ensures Sport Signage understands what assets and inventory it has, where they are, what condition they are in and how they are allocated across the event calendar. The function is designed to support event teams by providing the resources they need without requiring those teams to return to Amberg to manage the whole process themselves.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate central record of relevant assets and inventory, including location, status, ownership or category and availability.
- Create clear identification standards and reduce reliance on individual memory.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure records are updated following movements, returns, damage or disposal.
- Translate event requirements into asset allocation plans in coordination with Operations Managers and workstream leads.
- Identify shortages, conflicts and opportunities for reuse or onward movement early, and prioritise allocation based on approved event needs.
- Escalate conflicts that require a management decision.
- Provide priorities and control requirements to the Warehouse/Storage Manager.
- Ensure physical storage, picking, staging and return processes support accurate system records and event readiness.
- Maintain appropriate stock and asset counting and reconciliation routines.
- Provide Logistics with clear asset availability, origin/destination and readiness information.
- Support onward-event routing where it avoids unnecessary returns to Amberg and remains properly controlled, and ensure movement completion is reflected in asset location records.
- Provide event teams with clear information on what has been allocated, what is outstanding and what must be returned or transferred onward.
- Resolve shortages and discrepancies centrally where possible rather than requiring event teams to manage warehouse and inventory activity themselves.
- Maintain processes for return checks, damage/loss reporting and repair or replace decisions with relevant owners.
- Provide visibility of recurring asset loss, damage or poor handling and support corrective action.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in inventory, asset management, warehouse control, event logistics or a comparable operational environment.
- Strong data discipline and the ability to maintain accurate location and status information across many concurrent events.
- Experience leading warehouse or storage activity, or coordinating physical asset processes.
- Inventory and asset control.
- Allocation planning and reconciliation.
- Warehouse process understanding.
- Data and system discipline.
- Cross-functional coordination.
- Cost and utilisation awareness and problem solving.
Preferred Skills
- Motorsport or live-event experience is advantageous.
Workplace
- Primarily based in the Amberg, Germany office, with travel to events and warehouse locations as required.
- Can alternatively be based in the Orpington, London office.
