Job description
About the Role
The Warehouse Assistant supports the day-to-day physical operation of Sport Signage's warehouse and storage areas, working under the direction of the Warehouse / Storage Manager and in line with Inventory & Asset Management controls. The role sits within the Sport Signage group, which specialises in racetrack and sports-event signage and offers end-to-end services from creative design and production to logistics, installation and software solutions. Backed by decades of global experience, the team delivers bespoke design concepts, on-site printing, ground painting, LED displays and sustainable materials to transform circuits into immersive, branded environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick assigned items against provided lists and instructions.
- Pack and label items clearly by event or destination and stage them in the correct loading area.
- Report missing, damaged or unclear items rather than substituting without approval.
- Support unloading and receipt of supplier deliveries and event returns, moving items to the correct receiving or inspection area and supporting quantity and identity checks.
- Place items in assigned storage locations, keep aisles and access routes clear, and follow labelling and storage standards so others can reliably find and identify assets.
- Support safe loading and unloading of vehicles and freight in the required sequence, handling equipment carefully and using appropriate handling aids or equipment as instructed.
- Support cycle counts, stock checks, labelling and asset-identification activities as directed, and provide accurate physical information to the Warehouse Manager or Inventory team when discrepancies are found.
- Maintain clean, organised work areas, segregate and dispose of waste as instructed, follow PPE, manual-handling and equipment-use requirements, and report unsafe conditions.
- Work flexibly during high-volume event preparation and return periods, prioritising urgent event work according to direction from the Warehouse / Storage Manager.
- Suggest practical improvements to storage, packing, labelling and daily warehouse routines based on hands-on experience.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Ability to work physically and accurately to deadlines.
- Picking, packing and labelling.
- Materials handling and safe manual work.
- Organisation and attention to detail.
- Basic inventory and stock checking.
- Teamwork and clear problem reporting.
Preferred Skills
- Warehouse, logistics, event, production or materials-handling experience is helpful.
- Forklift or handling-equipment qualifications are advantageous where relevant, subject to separate confirmation for the actual work required.
Workplace
- Primarily Amberg-based, with occasional event support as required.
