Job description
About the Role
Acts as the engine of the Workday team, keeping the systems behind People processes running excellently across performance, learning, benefits, time and absence, and engagement. It offers a launchpad into HR technology, with senior specialists who invest in teaching and development. The successful candidate will grow deliberately towards owning Workday modules of their own.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute mass data loads (EIBs) for org changes, regular uploads, annual cycles and corrections accurately and audit-proof.
- Run the operational side of quarterly and annual cycles, including performance, calibration, talent and compensation review support.
- Resolve escalated Workday tickets (tier 2) across modules and fix root causes rather than symptoms.
- Own structured testing for Workday releases and projects, plus data retention and purging routines.
- Implement Workday configuration improvements, starting with simpler changes and developing into ownership of larger areas.
- Support Workday report and dashboard improvements, ensuring appropriate security for every audience and clean data as the basis for insights.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 1–4 years of experience in HRIS, HR systems, HR operations or people analytics.
- Precision with data, including reconciling before publishing and keeping an audit trail by instinct.
- Organised and calm during live cycles; structured, deadline-driven and dependable.
- A service mindset with curiosity, resolving issues properly and spotting patterns worth fixing.
- Clear, confident communication with both technical and business teams, and adept at training and keeping things simple for end users.
- Ambition to grow into a Workday specialist; the employer intends to develop the successful candidate.
Preferred Skills
- Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Workday configuration, EIBs, security assignments, support, and testing.
Workplace
- 88 Wood Street, London, United Kingdom.
- Open to discussing part-time work from 0.8 FTE.
- Flexible working is how the team operates.
Benefits & Perks
- A collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world, including Engineering offices in Europe, Asia and the US.
- Various social events and team-building.
- Flexibility to manage workday and tasks with autonomy.
- A balance of structure and autonomy to tackle daily tasks.
- A vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups which welcome all participants.
- Global Employee Assistance Programme.
- Calm and Relay app (leading well-being apps designed to support focus, quality rest, mindfulness and long-term mental resilience).
- Online training videos.
The Application Process
- Initial screening: a quick chat with the Talent Acquisition Partner to understand background and expectations.
- Two interviews: meet with the team and Hiring Manager to dive into background and discuss team fit.
- Final steps: receive feedback and, if successful, an offer.
