Senior Specialist - Technical Designer

Executes the fit and technical development of apparel styles from design handover through production, translating design intent into production-ready specifications while balancing aesthetic fit, functionality, garment construction, and manufacturing quality. It collaborates closely with Design, Pattern Engineering, Product Development, and vendor partners to deliver consistent fit and construction standards. Reporting to Technical Design leadership, the role manages assigned style categories, communicates technical callouts, and leverages 2D/3D digital tools to elevate product excellence.

• Conduct live model fit sessions, evaluating garment balance, proportion, and construction, and communicate actionable fit comments and pattern adjustments cross-functionally.
• Apply established brand fit standards, grade rules, and construction specifications across assigned apparel styles and size ranges to ensure fit consistency.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical packages (tech packs), points of measure (POM) charts, parts of the bill of materials (BOM), and detailed construction diagrams.
• Track and manage assigned seasonal style milestones and daily technical workflow to ensure on-time delivery against GTM calendar deadlines.
• Partner with Sourcing, Materials, and Product Development to review wear-test findings, assess construction risks, and resolve production feasibility challenges.
• Communicate clear, actionable technical comments, pattern annotations, and sewing diagrams directly with overseas vendors and sample rooms.
• Maintain specification data integrity, graded measurement charts, and technical trim details in FlexPLM throughout the product lifecycle.
• Utilize 3D digital apparel simulation (CLO 3D / Browzwear) and 2D CAD tools to evaluate fit, visualize drape, and streamline physical sampling iterations.

• 4-7 years of apparel technical design, patternmaking, or garment development experience.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, tailoring methods, grading rules, POM specifications, and live-model fit execution.
• Proficiency in 2D digital pattern software (Gerber/Lectra) and manual flat-pattern corrections to address fit issues.
• Hands-on working knowledge of 3D apparel simulation software (CLO 3D, Browzwear) for digital prototyping and fit validation.
• Proficiency in enterprise PLM systems (FlexPLM or equivalent), Adobe Illustrator for technical flats, and Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of fabric properties, stretch behaviour, knit and woven garment construction, and modern seam finishing techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to translate designer sketches and creative intent into accurate technical specifications and grade rules.
• Strong technical communication skills to convey clear fit comments, pattern adjustments, and construction callouts to global factories.
• Collaborative team player skilled at partnering cross-functionally with Design, Pattern Engineering, Sourcing, and Product Development.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to prioritise seasonal workloads and consistently hit calendar deadlines.
• Analytical problem-solver capable of diagnosing fit and balance defects, evaluating wear-test feedback, and mitigating production risks.
