About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Record to Report (RTR) or Controller Junior Accountant is to deliver quality accounting services for Warner Bros. Discovery entities. The role reports to the Manager – Record to Report or Manager Controller for Argentina and Chile, and works closely with the Local Entity Financial Controller, other business departments, Global Business Services (GBS), the broader finance community, internal audit, external auditors, the tax team and financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries, reconcile GL accounts, issue intercompany invoices and complete other month-end standard and ad-hoc activities.
- Prepare simple accruals and other manual journal entries together with their supporting documents, keeping evidence of control and approval.
- Prepare supporting files to analyse the monthly activity of assigned accounts, identify and highlight relevant variances and differences in QTD and YTD analysis, and report those variances to the Accounting Manager.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned accounts, identify improvement areas in the supporting files and documents used to back up those reconciliations in Cadency Certification, and suggest those changes to the Accounting Manager.
- Carry out the bank reconciliations process, including bank upload, clearing of open items and follow-up to clear the items.
- Participate in the closing process in the region.
- Ensure completeness of close for appointed entities.
- Ensure completeness of the month-end accounting process as per the month-end calendar.
- Ensure accounting policies are followed for the respective region and that SOX documents and process-related documentation are complete.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by key customers and stakeholders in the respective accounting region.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Advanced student of Accounting, Administration or Finance.
- Intermediate English.
- Accounting experience.
- Proficient with MS Excel and advanced functions.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in SAP FI/CO.
- Blackline and Cadency experience.
Workplace
- Based in Polanco, Mexico City.
