Lead - D365 Functional Consultant

This role sits within the Americas Technology team and serves as a functional domain leader for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations ecosystem. Operating at a lead level, it moves beyond isolated configuration to champion strategic solutioning, steer multi-workstream roadmaps and mentor a team of specialists. A vital mandate is acting as the functional authority for fiscal and statutory localisation across Latin America, most notably Mexico and Brazil, where operational logistics and statutory finance are inseparable.

• Lead the functional solution design for complex statutory compliance across the Americas, owning end-to-end configuration standards for Mexico and Brazil.
• Partner across Finance, Tax, Logistics, Commercial and Global Technology teams to ensure statutory requirements act as enablers rather than operational bottlenecks.
• Align warehouse dispatch, replenishment, transfer orders and 3PL flows with real-time tax stamping engines.
• Lead the architectural transition away from historical external contractor dependencies towards self-sufficient internal capabilities.
• Work closely with the Solution Architect and engineering teams to create high-level functional designs and translate business needs into comprehensive Solution Design Documents and Functional Specifications.
• Lead functional decision-making across teams by facilitating discovery workshops, presenting data-driven trade-offs and securing stakeholder buy-in, navigating competing priorities between local market operators, regional finance controllers and global tech leadership.
• Improve system-wide operational stability and observability across D365, establishing root-cause investigation standards for recurring batch job failures, electronic reporting sync delays and DMF data pipeline latency to prevent live business disruptions.
• Drive testing rigour by defining multi-tier test strategies covering unit, integration, regression and UAT, overseeing milestone release planning, deprecating legacy features reliably and establishing regression guardrails around mandatory tax reform updates and monthly financial close cycles.
• Mentor and coach functional consultants and specialists, connecting them to growth opportunities, promoting technology principles and fostering a culture of candid feedback.

• 8+ years of deep functional and strategic experience executing and leading Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementations.
• Practical, hands-on familiarity with statutory and tax localisation for the Americas region, including Mexico and Brazil.
• Solid understanding of how financial rules connect with operational and supply chain processes such as warehousing, inventory movement, order processing and retail replenishment.
• Broad technical and functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, including out-of-the-box functionality and its limits.
• Skilled at facilitating workshops, gathering requirements and explaining technical D365 concepts clearly to finance and operations partners.
• Collaborative and mentoring mindset, with an enjoyment of sharing knowledge, helping teammates grow and contributing to an inclusive, agile team environment.

• Role based in the New York City office.

• Typical cash compensation range for a role based in the New York City office, inclusive of base and bonus: 129,000–161,000 USD.
