About the Role
As a functional domain leader within On's Global Technology team in Zurich, the role owns the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations ecosystem at Lead level. The position champions strategic solutioning, steers multi-workstream roadmaps, reduces complex system architectures into elegant solutions, and mentors a passionate team. A vital mandate is serving as the functional authority for fiscal and statutory localisation across international markets, most notably Europe and expanding regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the functional solution design for complex statutory compliance across European and international markets, and own end-to-end configuration standards for local compliance frameworks.
- Partner across Finance, Tax, Logistics, Commercial, and Global Technology teams to ensure statutory requirements act as enablers rather than operational bottlenecks, aligning warehouse dispatch, replenishment, transfer orders, and 3PL flows with real-time tax stamping engines.
- Drive the architectural transition away from historical external contractor dependencies into self-sufficient internal capabilities.
- Work closely with the Solution Architect and engineering teams to create high-level functional designs and translate business needs into comprehensive Solution Design Documents and Functional Specifications.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, present data-driven trade-offs, and secure stakeholder buy-in to lead functional decision-making across teams, navigating competing priorities between local market operators, regional finance controllers, and global tech leadership.
- Improve system-wide operational stability and observability across D365, and establish root-cause investigation standards for recurring batch job failures, electronic reporting sync delays, and DMF data pipeline latency to prevent live business disruptions.
- Champion testing rigour by defining multi-tier test strategies (unit, integration, regression, and UAT), overseeing milestone release planning, deprecating legacy features reliably, and establishing regression guardrails around mandatory tax reform updates and monthly financial close cycles.
- Mentor and coach functional consultants and specialists, connect them to growth opportunities, promote On's technology principles, foster a culture of candid feedback, and raise the bar within regional tech.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years of deep functional and strategic experience executing and leading Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementations.
- Practical familiarity with statutory and tax localisation for European and international regions.
- A solid understanding of how financial rules connect with operational and supply chain processes such as warehousing, inventory movement, order processing, and retail replenishment.
- Broad technical and functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, including out-of-the-box functionality and limits.
- Skilled at facilitating workshops, gathering requirements, and explaining technical D365 concepts clearly to finance and operations partners.
- A collaborative and mentoring mindset, with enjoyment in sharing knowledge, helping teammates grow, and contributing to an inclusive, agile team environment.
