Job description
About the Role
This is an entry-level role for someone at the start of their career, focused on day-to-day content operations with particular emphasis on the visual side of Deltatre's platforms: the hero images, thumbnails, and promotional graphics that shape how viewers find and experience content. The post-holder reports to the Content Operations Lead, learns the full content lifecycle from the people who run it, and takes on more responsibility as experience grows. No previous experience in content operations is expected, as the workflows and systems are learned on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce visual assets such as hero images, thumbnails, and promotional graphics that follow platform guidelines and client brand requirements.
- Adapt assets across formats, aspect ratios, and devices, and check that they display correctly on the front end.
- Help maintain asset templates and libraries so the team can work faster and more consistently.
- Contribute visual elements to the branded proof-of-concept environments the team builds for client conversations.
- Prepare and enter metadata such as titles, descriptions, tags, and geo-restrictions to the team's quality standards.
- Support publishing workflows, including playlist creation and ordering, with guidance from senior team members.
- Draft supporting editorial copy such as match descriptions and highlight summaries, keeping it clear, consistent, and neutral.
- Support VOD processing across ingestion, metadata enrichment, and publishing.
- Run regular audit checks on playback, metadata accuracy, and front-end presentation.
- Record content, issues, and fixes in the team's documentation so others can pick up where you left off, and suggest improvements to tools, templates, and workflows when the same issue recurs.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- A degree (completed, or due to be completed before the start date) in graphic design, visual communication, digital media, or a related field, or equivalent practical design experience.
- A portfolio or examples of design work produced – university projects, internships, freelance, and personal work all count – that can be talked through in terms of the brief, the choices made, and what would be done differently now.
- Working proficiency with Adobe Photoshop or comparable design tools, for example Illustrator, Figma, or Affinity.
- Understanding of how visual assets need to adapt to different formats, screen sizes, and brand guidelines.
- Accuracy in repetitive, high-volume work such as metadata entry and bulk image creation, including checking own output before handing it on.
- Ability to deliver to fixed deadlines, including time-critical work around live events.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and simple formulas.
- Clear written communication, including short status updates and issue reports.
- Fluent written and spoken English, the working language across the group.
- Availability to work shifts within a 24/7 operational rhythm, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Internship, placement, or part-time experience in media, publishing, digital content, or broadcast.
- Experience with a content management system (CMS).
- Basic motion graphics or video editing skills, for example After Effects or Premiere Pro.
- Familiarity with UX principles or how content is presented on web, mobile, and TV apps.
- Knowledge of sport and entertainment content, useful for editorial judgement.
Workplace
- Is offered on a UK employment contract, and candidates must be based in the UK; remote working from outside the country cannot be supported due to local employment and tax legislation.
- Sits within a 24/7 operational team, with shift working including evenings and weekends as needed.
The Application Process
When applying, include a link to your portfolio or examples of your design work in your CV or the application form; that work will be discussed in detail during the interviews, so pieces should be chosen that you are happy to talk through. Interview formats can be adjusted where needed, and accessibility and accommodation questions are welcome at any stage.
- Introductory conversation – an opportunity to get to know each other and to ask questions about Deltatre.
- 1-hour technical interview – a deep dive into your portfolio and past work, covering how you approached the brief, the decisions you made, and the tools you used.
- 1-hour competency-based interview – situational questions based on real-life work scenarios.
About the Company
Working in a 24/7 environment, the team handles the full content lifecycle – ingestion, enrichment, scheduling, publishing, and monitoring – and works closely with content owners, broadcasters, and federations.
