Job description
About the Role
Chelsea FC is recruiting a data-driven, fan-centric product marketing professional to grow awareness, acquisition and engagement across its suite of digital products, from the Chelsea Official App and Membership to emerging platforms and experiences. The role sits within the Commercial Marketing department, at the intersection of marketing, product and fan engagement, delivering campaigns that help supporters discover products, understand their value and strengthen their connection with the club. Working with the Product Marketing Manager, the postholder owns day-to-day campaign delivery, bringing creative ideas, strong organisation and a hands-on approach to turning plans into effective marketing activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day delivery of agreed product marketing campaigns, from briefs and copy through to assets, approvals, channel coordination and reporting.
- Maintain the product marketing calendar, tracking deadlines, dependencies and upcoming activity.
- Write supporter-facing copy for emails, web pages, in-app placements, app store updates and other relevant channels.
- Develop creative briefs and work with Creative Studio to deliver effective assets, providing clear feedback against the campaign objectives.
- Deliver marketing activity for product launches and feature updates, helping supporters understand the benefits and how to use them.
- Own agreed BAU product marketing campaigns across key product areas, working with CRM, Content, Product, Data and commercial teams to improve performance.
- Prepare campaign performance updates that explain what worked, what needs attention and the proposed next steps, and apply those learnings to future activity.
- Use supporter feedback, campaign results and relevant examples from other clubs and brands to recommend improvements to messaging, creative and supporter journeys.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience delivering marketing campaigns or communications across digital channels.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to explain products and benefits clearly to different audiences.
- Good creative judgement, with an eye for compelling copy and assets and the ability to give clear, constructive feedback.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with experience managing several pieces of work and meeting deadlines.
- Confidence working across teams, securing the information and approvals needed and following activity through to completion.
- An interest in digital products, supporter behaviour and customer journeys.
- Comfortable interpreting performance data and turning findings into practical recommendations.
- Initiative and sound judgement, with the confidence to take work forward independently, suggest improvements and raise issues early.
- Commitment to embodying the club's BLUE behaviours (Brave, Lead, Unity, Edge) in the approach to work and interaction with others.
- Adherence to the club's policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Financial Authorisation, Confidentiality and GDPR.
- Commitment to acting as an ambassador for diversity, equality and inclusion and to treating others fairly in line with the club's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy, reporting any acts of discrimination through appropriate channels.
- Commitment to creating a safe environment and acting to protect all young people and vulnerable adults in the postholder's care or attending club premises, reporting any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead.
- Willingness to report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the HR Department.
- Completion of a DBS check prior to starting employment, and other child protection screening where appropriate to the role.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with apps, subscriptions, membership products, CRM or sport would be useful, but is not essential.
