It collaborates with Paralympic Sport Managers and design, Event Management and Venue Infrastructure teammates to turn specialist knowledge into practical, accessible plans that create an inclusive Games.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with Paralympic Sport Managers and LA28 design teams to shape the development and design of competition and training venues.
- Develop policies, procedures and operational tools that support Paralympic sport planning and delivery.
- Identify gaps and shortfalls in Paralympic sport and venue planning before they affect athletes.
- Collaborate with Sport Managers and Event Management (EVM) and Venue Infrastructure (VNI) teams on practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Support budgets and project plans with validated sport- and discipline-specific information and planning assumptions.
- Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience delivering national and international level sporting events in a leadership role, from grassroots to professional levels.
- Expertise in sport venue delivery, including International Federation (IF), IOC and IPC training venue requirements and cross-functional venue design collaboration.
- Extensive experience recruiting and leading a large and diverse event workforce, and considering diverse groups of athletes in sport planning.
- Extremely detail-oriented, organised and independent problem-solver, fluent in Microsoft Office suite products, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.
- Valid passport required for international travel.
Preferred Skills
- Direct sport experience at a previous OCOG or multi-sport Games.
- Extensive knowledge of IFs and the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.
- Ability to implement and manage change effectively.
- Self-starter balancing assertiveness with diplomacy.
- Innovative mindset that challenges the status quo.
Workplace
- No relocation assistance is provided for any positions.
- LA28 values talent from all geographic backgrounds and welcomes applications from candidates based outside the Los Angeles area if they are able to work on-site in LA.
- Available to work on-site in the Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
- The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
- The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
- Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
- Travel internationally once or twice yearly for one to two weeks (20% or less of working hours).
- Travel domestically up to three times yearly and locally up to twice monthly for IF and NGB events and venue visits.
Benefits & Perks
- Help deliver the first Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, with visible athlete impact.
- Gain exposure to International Federations and global sporting events.
- Work alongside sport, venue and operations teammates, sharing every success.
- Develop transferable multi-sport venue planning skills that last beyond 2028.
The Application Process
LA28 is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process, and applications are assessed based on relevant skills, education, and experience a candidate can add to the team.
