Development Director - game development

Leads project development for EA SPORTS FC Mobile Shanghai, establishing the overall project structure and guiding the project team through delivery. It involves building and maintaining roadmaps, managing budgets and risks, and coordinating with internal and external partners. The position also supports team growth, hiring, and process improvement within a collaborative mobile game development environment.

• Establish the overall project development structure and guide the project team to proceed.
• Build and maintain the project roadmap and schedule, including estimation of the scope of work.
• Build and evolve a team, identify resourcing needs, and provide challenges and developmental opportunities to ensure all employees reach their potential through mentoring and career development.
• Implement and monitor the cycle of each development process, supporting the team as needed.
• Develop working relationships with the immediate team and those outside it who influence project completion.
• Communicate with project teams and coordinate requirements with external partners.
• Participate in the hiring process to ensure candidates meet project requirements.
• Produce milestone reports and ensure delivery of the quality build on time.
• Manage budgets for procurement, travel, and outsourcing.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project cycle.

• 8+ years of experience in leading complex programmes, operations, or projects, including 5+ years in an operational leadership role.
• Proven ability to build and improve operational processes, team effectiveness, and delivery outcomes.
• Strong execution and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and version control systems.
• Passion for games.

• Experience supporting live service operations and large-scale cross-functional programmes.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience in game development or live service environments.
• Knowledge of FC Mobile and the football gaming landscape.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
