Job description
About the Role
The Senior Front-End Engineer sits within Deltatre's Engineering & Technology function, spanning DIGITAL Solutions and OTT Solutions. The role takes end-to-end ownership of features and solutions across web and mobile applications, contributing to component systems, performance standards, and delivery pipelines. It is a hands-on, cross-functional position with two tracks that differ in depth of experience, scope of contribution, and degree of independence expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of features and solutions across the platform.
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality front-end experiences across web and mobile platforms.
- Lead solution and feature design, bringing well-reasoned technical proposals and seeing them through to delivery.
- Mentor mid-level and junior developers through code review, pairing, and day-to-day guidance.
- Contribute to and evolve the shared component library and design system, focusing on consistency, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
- Set a high bar for front-end performance through profiling, measuring, and improving rendering, load times, and analytics instrumentation.
- Collaborate with back-end engineers, QA, and product to define robust, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and front-end tooling to improve build reliability and developer experience.
- Stay current with the front-end ecosystem and bring emerging patterns and practices into the team.
- Help establish standards that others build on and contribute actively to how the team works.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Comfortable in a cross-functional environment, with a focus on quality and ownership.
- Identifies problems, proposes solutions, and follows through without waiting to be asked.
- Produces work that others learn from and invests in both technical quality and team capability.
- For both tracks: Solid command of HTML and CSS/SCSS, including responsive and adaptive layouts, flexbox, and grid.
- For both tracks: Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems.
- For both tracks: Deep understanding of front-end performance, including measurement, optimisation, and analytics integration.
- For both tracks: Experience with RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
- For both tracks: Comfortable working within CI/CD pipelines and modern front-end tooling.
- For both tracks: Demonstrated testing approach, with experience in modern front-end testing frameworks and a test-first mindset.
- For both tracks: Clear communicator who can articulate technical decisions to peers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- OTT Solutions: Deep proficiency in React, including cross-platform delivery.
- OTT Solutions: Proven track record shipping apps across multiple targets: web, mobile (iOS/Android) and/or connected TV.
- DIGITAL Solutions: Deep proficiency in React and NextJS, including cross-platform delivery.
- DIGITAL Solutions: Proven track record shipping apps across multiple targets: web, mobile (iOS/Android).
Preferred Skills
- OTT Solutions: Experience in the streaming or media industry, such as VOD, live events, player integrations, or DRM.
- OTT Solutions: Hands-on 10-foot development experience across Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Apple TV, or Android TV / Fire TV.
- OTT Solutions: Familiarity with client-side data event instrumentation.
- OTT Solutions: Knowledge of Node.js, AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudFront), or back-end concepts.
- OTT Solutions: Curiosity about the full stack and how front-end decisions interact with broader system design.
- DIGITAL Solutions: Familiarity with client-side data event instrumentation.

Workplace
- Hybrid working with at least 1 day per week in the office based in Skopje.
