Job description
About the Role
On Location is seeking an experienced content strategist and writer to shape how the company communicates its products, services and capabilities to B2B/enterprise clients, brands, rightsholders, partners and high-net-worth audiences. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Product Marketing & Content Strategy, the role translates complex offerings and input from multiple stakeholders and teams into clear, persuasive stories that support business development, drive revenue and generate and grow client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop messaging and positioning that clarify the relationship between On Location's enterprise offering, On Location Amplify capabilities, Platinum programmes and bespoke experiences, in partnership with business leaders.
- Own the content strategy, narrative structure and writing for capability decks, executive presentations, RFPs, Platinum proposals and sales materials, translating operational details into a compelling account of the client opportunity and On Location's ability to deliver.
- Create and edit enterprise newsletter content across core events and dedicated LA28 editions, shaping the editorial angle, product spotlights and calls to action around audience needs, and project manage content inputs, review cycles and handoff for design and distribution.
- Propose and manage an editorial calendar for all newsletters.
- Develop case studies that demonstrate On Location Amplify's capabilities and results, gathering input from delivery teams, researching photo and video archives, verifying claims and coordinating required brand and rightsholder permissions before publication.
- Build reusable content frameworks, proposal structures, messaging libraries and approved content modules that help teams scale, partnering with creative teams to turn these frameworks into designed templates.
- Connect key internal stakeholders across Product Marketing, Platinum, curation, enterprise partnerships, business development, operations and creative to surface relevant expertise, resolve content gaps and keep the story consistent.
- Own content milestones, consolidate feedback, flag missing inputs or blockers, and maintain accessible, current content resources in coordination with project owners on broader schedules and dependencies.
- Brief creative teams on the audience, story hierarchy and supporting imagery, and review designed materials for content accuracy and clarity.
- Apply strong editorial judgment to every deliverable by checking facts, proofreading, simplifying complex language and confirming that materials answer the brief and meet applicable approval requirements.
- Lead strategic planning for content and broader brand messaging, ensuring alignment and consistency across On Location teams, platforms and touchpoints.
- Generate engaging, compelling and convincing content for RFPs, presentation decks, internal and external facing newsletters and sales collateral to enable client retention and new business opportunities, including drafting, editing and structuring presentation content
- Storylines and talking points aligned with On Location Amplify's objectives.
- Lead the content workstream for On Location Amplify RFPs: interpret the brief, identify the expertise and contributors needed, develop the narrative and synthesise submissions from multiple teams into one cohesive voice, partnering with the RFP account lead on deadlines and reviews.
- Tailor the narrative to each client's brand, audience and objectives rather than reusing a prior pitch without considering its relevance.
- Maintain and organise knowledge bases and archives, ensuring all materials are properly tagged, filed and organised in an easily resourced format, and maintain a content/resource library available for self-serve usage.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years in content strategy, integrated marketing, brand storytelling, editorial or business communications, or equivalent experience demonstrating independent ownership of complex client-facing content.
- A strong portfolio of strategic writing, including proposals, RFP responses, capability presentations or case studies, with evidence of adapting the story to different brands and audiences.
- The ability to turn complex offerings and contributions from multiple subject matter experts into a clear narrative with a consistent voice.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills in English, with careful attention to accuracy and the judgment to challenge unclear or unsupported claims.
- Experience collaborating across functions, managing competing content priorities and moving deliverables forward with limited direction.
- Resourcefulness, follow-through and a practical approach to solving problems, with comfort working in a small team, willingness to work through ambiguity and the ability to shift priorities as the business evolves.
- Ability to lead cross-functional content planning calls, align stakeholders on upcoming needs and priorities, and ensure clear ownership and follow-through.
- Experience overseeing editorial calendars and coordinating content development and publication schedules across teams and channels.
- Proficiency with presentation and document tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote and Microsoft Word, and comfort using shared content repositories and project tracking tools.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects at once while prioritising immediate deliverables.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in sports, entertainment, hospitality, travel, experiential marketing or an agency serving enterprise clients and brands.
- Familiarity with custom guest programmes, brand activations, sponsorships or rightsholder partnerships, and experience translating those capabilities into client-facing content.
- Experience developing executive or board-level presentations and building reusable editorial systems in a growing business.
- Experience using Asana and Airtable to track content projects, manage deadlines and maintain visibility into deliverables.
Benefits & Perks
- Locally competitive rewards packages that include a base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives.
- Growth and developmental opportunities.
- Robust benefits such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.
