Job description
About the Role
This role takes ownership of the operational delivery of Level Water's 2027 event season while playing a key part in preparing the 2028 event cycle. It is delivery-focused, responsible for making events happen smoothly, safely and to a high standard, and for contributing operational insight into how the programme evolves. The post-holder joins a well-established, small and high-trust team supported by strong systems, trusted suppliers and an experienced senior team, and reports to the Event Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Take operational ownership of agreed areas across logistics, production, swimmer experience and on-the-day delivery for the flagship river swim events, including Dart10k, Bantham Swoosh & Boomerang, and Hurly Burly.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Wild Swim Relay series, including logistics, equipment and event setup.
- Lead on-the-day delivery across multiple locations and act as the central coordination point for internal staff, the Volunteer Manager and suppliers.
- Manage live timelines, respond to issues in real time and make operational decisions within agreed safety and escalation frameworks.
- Sign off all swimmer communications in the lead-up to events, including email sign-off and live webinar delivery.
- Remain accountable for delivery against agreed budgets, safety standards and participant experience goals.
- Support the preparation and execution of the 2028 event season from April 2027, coordinating permissions with key stakeholders and supporting event setup across systems.
- Check participant journeys, pricing structures and add-ons, and ensure data accuracy and readiness ahead of launch.
- Work alongside the Marketing team to ensure event information is accurate, clear and ready for participant communications.
- Coordinate delivery teams across events, support the Volunteer Manager and wider delivery teams, work closely with senior leadership on permissions, risk and partnerships, and be hands-on when needed, including build, pack-down and logistics.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience delivering mass participation events is essential.
- Comfortable operating with high autonomy and accountability.
- Able to plan thoroughly and deliver calmly under pressure.
- Able to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Able to hold multiple workstreams without losing grip on detail.
- Able to make sound decisions in live environments.
- Takes ownership and follows things through.
- £40-45k pro rata
Preferred Skills
- Experience with outdoor swimming events, such as swimming or triathlon events, is highly beneficial.
Workplace
- Hybrid working, with 1-2 days per week in the Tunbridge Wells office.
- Travel to events, venues and stakeholders throughout the year, specifically from June 2027 onwards.
- Onsite presence required for 7-10 events.
- Right to work in the UK.
The Application Process
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates are encouraged to apply in whatever format best shows who they are and how they think, whether a traditional CV and cover letter or a video introduction. Candidates with questions about the role, the team or whether it might be right for them are invited to get in touch before applying.
- Submit an application in a format of your choosing, such as a CV and cover letter or a video introduction.
- Set out what you would consider to be some of the key milestones in delivering a Wild Swim Relay event.
- Explain what interests you about working with Level Water and how you would bring the Level Water 'vibe' to onsite event delivery.
