About the Role
This role sits within the Advanced Digital Creation Studio, where design, innovation and technology come together to advance digital product creation. It reports to the Manager, 3D Design, Innovation and collaborates with designers, engineers, developers, innovation partners, external vendors and factory teams. The role focuses on building advanced 3D assets, visualisations and prototypes, strengthening creative and technical standards, and exploring emerging technology to unlock new possibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-fidelity 3D assets, visualisations and physical prototypes that bring future product concepts and innovation initiatives to life.
- Partner with designers, developers, engineers and manufacturing teams to translate new ideas into compelling, buildable solutions.
- Turn ambiguous briefs into clear design approaches, technical solutions and actionable execution plans.
- Advance 3D design best practices, workflows and standards that strengthen the team's digital creation capabilities.
- Research, test and apply emerging technologies, tools and AI-enabled workflows that accelerate and improve digital creation.
- Share expertise with fellow designers through peer feedback, demonstrations and informal mentoring.
- Present concepts, recommendations and workflow improvements with clarity and confidence to teammates and key stakeholders.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in 3D design, digital product creation, innovation or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Animation, Industrial Design, 3D Design, Engineering or related field; will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- Expert proficiency in Maya, Blender, Rhino, ZBrush or comparable 3D design platforms.
- Advanced expertise in materials, lighting, rendering, visualisation and digital storytelling using Adobe Substance 3D Suite, KeyShot, Unreal Engine or equivalent technologies.
- Experience contributing to cross-functional projects, exploring emerging technologies and adopting new digital creation workflows.
- Highly skilled 3D designer who combines artistic vision, deep technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to move ideas from concept through execution, navigate ambiguity with confidence and develop thoughtful design solutions.
- Curious about the future of digital product creation and brings an experimental mindset to emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), generative design and advanced visualisation.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across a diverse network of creative and technical partners.
- Comfortable crafting high-fidelity digital assets, improving workflows, sharing expertise with teammates and presenting ideas to stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and attention to craft.
