Manager, SAP BASIS Cloud Platform Architect

The SAP Infrastructure & Cloud Architect is responsible for managing the cloud architecture in the SAP environment, including the overall cloud infrastructure build, design, deployment and support. The role provides architectural support and guidance in the Basis Infrastructure space and on various SAP upgrade and enhancement projects, and offers infrastructure thought leadership for integration between SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Analytics Cloud, on-premise systems and AWS cloud. It also provides project management support and direct oversight of the Service Provider and/or project team members to ensure the integrity of the implemented design and architecture.

• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, monitor, performance-tune and troubleshoot SAP applications including SAP S/4, SAP MDG, SAP BRIM, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP SRM, SAP SCM, APO/Live Cache, SAP GRC, SAP IQ, SAP CRM, SAP LVM, MDM, Catalog, EP and Solution Manager.
• Manage peripheral systems such as OpenText and PGP encryption, and interfaces including printers, email servers and Go Anywhere/file drops.
• Lead proof of concept activity and guide the team on new technologies, providing architecture improvement guidance and execution support in AWS cloud.
• Maintain and manage the SAP Portal System.
• Perform system copies and landscape synchronisation.
• Manage backups and restores, disaster recovery and high availability of systems.
• Manage and satisfy SOX and other audit controls, applying security experience across the ABAP and Java stacks.
• Interface and collaborate effectively with other infrastructure teams, including server, storage and networking.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Stay abreast of SAP roadmaps, development and OSS notes to help improve the current platform.

• 10 years of deep SAP Basis Administration experience.
• 5+ years of experience working in a NetWeaver 7.0 or higher environment.
• 3+ years of experience in an S/4HANA, BRIM and BW/4HANA environment.
• 2+ years of experience supporting SAP in a cloud environment.
• Minimum of five complete life-cycle implementations.
• Experience with multiple SAP components, covering as many as possible from the list above.
• Experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP SCM, APO/Live Cache, SAP GRC, SAP IQ, SAP SRM, Portal, BTP, Fiori Launchpad and SAP CRM.
• Experience with Enhancement Packages and ABAP and Java stack administration, including system copies.
• Experience supporting SAP in an AWS cloud environment.
• Advanced level knowledge in managing SAP with HANA and/or DB2 databases, including backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Intermediate knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) integration, Cloud Connector and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• Experience with HANA, DB2 and Unix administration concepts as necessary for Basis work, including scripting in AWS Cloud and on-premise environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal, including translating complex technical issues clearly and precisely to both technical and non-technical parties.
• Familiarity with ODATA services and Fiori-based application deployment.
• Strong analytical and technical communication skills.

• Familiarity with SOX and ITIL.
• SAP certification.
• Experience with AWS.
• Understanding of SAP applications and their functionalities.
