About the Role
This role leads design direction for Jordan FBAT+Golf Apparel, setting evergreen and seasonal direction and performance best practices with clarity and inspiration. It sits within a collaborative design community and works closely with Product Directors, the Footwear Design Director, Colour and Graphics teams, external partners, and Jordan athletes. The director leads the design team to execute boundary-pushing product concepts and champions product integrity, innovation, and performance from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design team to execute product concepts that push boundaries for the future of the game.
- Create industry-leading, innovative designs and drive concepts from ideation through execution.
- Connect emerging innovation, athlete insights, cultural signals, product exploration, and brand vision into ideas that move the organisation forward.
- Champion product integrity, innovation, and performance while overseeing key initiatives from concept through execution.
- Develop design strategies and ensure excellence through advanced concepts.
- Manage presentations and communicate design visions to a variety of audiences, ensuring projects meet high standards and timelines.
- Work with Jordan athletes and travel as required.
- Build strong partnerships across the design community and cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of collaboration that encourages the team to explore new ideas, take calculated risks, and develop possibilities that have yet to be imagined.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- At least 10 years' experience designing and developing innovative apparel, accessories and other products.
- Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design or related field; any suitable combination of education, experience and training will be accepted.
- Knowledge of form, colour, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience.
- Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives.
- Experience in technical apparel design.
- Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
- Ability to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs).
- Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
- Experience with presentation programs such as Keynote, PowerPoint, and Acrobat.
- Positive personality and energy.
- Ability and passion to lead, mentor and onboard Design teammates.
- Ability to contribute and align to shared team culture and behaviours.
- Ability to act as a catalyst to make connections with other Design groups.
Preferred Skills
- Basketball design experience.
- Cobbling and prototyping skills.
- 3D design programs experience.
- AI design programs experience.
- Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing.
- Experience working with athletes and collaborators.
