About the Role
The FullStack Software Engineer designs and builds secure, highly scalable and innovative services in a continuous delivery model on the Nike cloud platform. The role partners with leads and architects to deliver robust, architecturally sound, easily maintainable and highly scalable web services for Nike partner experiences and platform. The engineer works with local and geographically dispersed engineering teams, product owners and other engineering squads to provide technical expertise, define requirements and shape end-to-end architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build secure, highly scalable and innovative services in a continuous delivery model on the Nike cloud platform.
- Partner with leads and architects to deliver robust, architecturally sound, easily maintainable and highly scalable web services for Nike partner experiences and platform.
- Work with local and geographically dispersed engineering teams to provide technical expertise on development and architecture.
- Work with product owners to understand requirements, size work early, define MVPs for features and possible timeline goals.
- Collaborate with other engineering squads to define end-to-end cohesive architecture for new features.
- Take responsibility for full-stack development.
- Ensure development best practices are followed, including Clean Code, Clean Architecture and code reviews.
- Build highly scalable distributed solutions across the full stack that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
- Review and analyse complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives.
- Build for scale and high performance.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Proven full-stack software engineer with front-end and back-end development experience, excellent communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to multitask, innovate and challenge conventional thinking.
- Minimum 3-5 years software development experience designing, developing and testing complex solutions and code in web technologies such as Java, Python and Node.js.
- Experience with front-end development using either ReactJS or Vue.
- Experience working in a distributed or cloud-based environment, such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Prior experience in designing and implementing web services.
- Experience in microservice architecture, domain-driven design and RESTful services.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, DynamoDB and Elastic Search.
- Experience with CI/CD, unit testing, static analysis and automated integration tests.
- Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles.
- Knowledge of common design patterns.
- Experience with distributed processing of large datasets.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps engineering, including at least a few tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub, SonarQube, Harness and Prisma.
- Self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Commitment to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviews.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with the latest AI tools and models.
- Experience with New Relic, SignalFx, Splunk and Kafka.
