Lifeguard

Plays a vital part in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members, ensuring the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience. It sits within the Operations Team and acts as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations and maintaining operational excellence. The postholder delivers exceptional service every day and supports the club's wider social wellness proposition.

• Create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members, ensuring the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience.
• Act as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations, maintaining operational excellence and delivering exceptional service every day.
• Ensure the utmost safety of members in the pool and spa areas, taking responsibility for personal safety and that of others.
• Act consistently in a safe manner, completing safety checks and recording them accurately.
• Monitor water chemical levels and clean the water when appropriate.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to the high standards of Virgin Active.
• Take responsibility for compliance with all mandatory training and health and safety.
• Fulfil Duty Shifts when required, taking responsibility and accountability during the shift and controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.

• A friendly, calm and approachable nature, with the ability to act quickly and effectively at all times.
• Current Lifeguard qualification and full registration, with either an IQL National Pool Qualification (RLSS), HABC Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (RQF) or STA Professional Award for Pool Lifeguard (RQF) qualification.
