Manager, Footwear Cost Engineering

This role ensures efficient and effective manufacturing cost at scale by leveraging Nike best practices and leading strategic costing conversations and cost optimisation projects across footwear. It works closely with Nike Footwear Manufacturing Partners teams and cross-functional teams including Footwear Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Finance. The position is based in the Nike Taiwan Office and reports to the Director, Partner Cost Engineering and Standard, collaborating with the Cost and Standards Engineering team in Taichung and other Asia locations.

• Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing cost at scale leveraging Nike best practices.
• Conduct seasonal quote management and create value by identifying and driving costing opportunities.
• Lead strategic costing conversations and help the team deliver cost optimisation results to meet product briefs and Nike's profitability expectations.
• Lead a wide range of cost optimisation projects and influence Manufacturing Partners throughout all phases of creation and production.
• Communicate costing strategy and recommendations clearly and concisely, leveraging engineering and manufacturing knowledge, for product or process improvements.
• Drive cost breakdown accuracy through comprehensive validation and analysis, including both cost of product and cost of footwear business operation.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Partners to validate new labour process standards and capture value for modernisation initiatives.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Cost and Standards Engineering function by defining new processes and tools to drive competitive, sustainable, and standardised costing for all products.
• Support the continuous evolution of Nike's strategic costing framework, including leading functional and programme initiatives that turn costing and manufacturing concepts into reality.

• Bachelor's degree with a focus in Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of footwear construction, manufacturing, costing, and supply chain.
• Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, remain flexible, be results-oriented, and work in an environment of ambiguity.
• Pragmatic thinker and creative problem solver who will proactively research and drive collective resolution.
• Ability to provide strategic team leadership, including recruiting, training and developing the team's cost engineering skills.
• High proficiency using Outlook, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
• Ability to travel 10-20% of the time.
• Proactive problem solver, able to prioritise tasks, work productively, and act as a flexible multitasker.
• Foster effective teamwork in partnership with Nike cross-functional teams to drive competitive, sustainable, and standardised costing across footwear.

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Footwear Engineering, Development, Manufacturing, or Product Costing is preferred; related disciplines are also acceptable.
• Knowledge of footwear construction, manufacturing, innovation, costing, and global business management, and experience with footwear supply chain, are preferred.

• Reports to the Director, Partner Cost Engineering and Standard.
• Works closely with Nike Footwear Manufacturing Partners teams and cross-functional teams including Footwear Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Finance.
• Works alongside the Cost and Standards Engineering team in the Taichung office and other Asia locations.
