Job description
About the Role
Involves designing, developing, testing and deploying solutions on the ServiceNow platform and maintaining ServiceNow processes and applications. The developer writes clean, efficient and maintainable code, builds integrations with other enterprise systems, and supports high code quality through peer reviews. The position works within Agile ceremonies and collaborates with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and solve business problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
- Develop and maintain ServiceNow processes and applications.
- Write clean, efficient and maintainable code following development standards and best practices.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure and performant.
- Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality.
- Build and support integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups and other Agile ceremonies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions and overall systems.
- Keep up to date with software development trends and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and solve business problems.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including development, customisation and integrations.
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow scripting and JavaScript.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with other systems using REST APIs, SOAP, Web Services and MID Server.
- Experience with ServiceNow Developer Studio / Studio IDE and source-control tools.
- Good knowledge of ITSM, HRSD and other ServiceNow applications.
- Understanding of ServiceNow security concepts, including roles, ACLs and group management.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow development and implementation best practices.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Familiarity with custom widget development in Service Portal.
- Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
