About the Role
The 2027 NBA Summer Internship is a 10-week programme running from 7 June to 13 August 2027 that gives participants the opportunity to learn about the business of basketball, develop critical career skills and contribute to meaningful projects across a range of departments in the NBA and its affiliate leagues (WNBA and G League). Selected interns work across a broad range of business initiatives, investment opportunities and partnerships, providing analytical, strategic and operational support at the intersection of sports, media, technology and entertainment. Past interns have worked in departments including Corporate Strategy, Global Partnerships, and Team Marketing & Business Operations (TMBO).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide analytical, strategic and operational support across a broad range of business initiatives, investment opportunities and partnerships
- Complete market research on startups, venture capital, business opportunities and the latest content technologies
- Develop a comprehensive database of startups' key metrics and market insights, including insights on current portfolio companies, to help inform investment decisions
- Develop innovation initiatives on emerging technologies related to the live game product and fan experience
- Discover target companies in priority areas and conduct extensive due diligence on potential investments
- Identify gaps and guardrails for new partners by reviewing contracts, one-sheets and existing decks
- Identify case studies and other best-practice tools for partnership strategy and activation departments
- Maintain a consistent value-based relationship with all client groups as a proactive and responsive business partner
- Provide guidance and analytical rigour on existing business partnerships to senior internal and external stakeholders
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Enrolled in an MBA or other graduate-level programme
- Experience in Business, Finance, Marketing, Risk Management or Strategy
- Excellent academic standing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership skills as demonstrated through relevant extracurricular or community activities
- Foundational mastery of AI technologies in driving project execution and achieving business objectives

- Proactive self-starter with independent working habits
- Strong analytical and modelling skills
- Highly collaborative
- Strong interest in sports media, the venture capital space, technology and similar areas

Workplace
- Eligible employees have the option of working remotely one day per week
Salary
- $35/Hr
