Work Experience

A one-week work experience programme is offered in July for up to five students each year. The programme provides exposure to how a sports data business operates, from the moment a play happens on the field to the moment it appears on screen. Participants rotate through different areas of the business, including data analysis, broadcast, product design and general office experience.

• Rotate through different areas of the business over the one-week programme.
• Observe how analysts turn raw match data into insights for clubs, leagues and media.
• Learn how data and graphics make it onto live sport coverage.
• Gain exposure to how digital products for fans and professionals are designed and built.
• Find out what it takes to keep a busy, fast-paced business running day to day.

• Open to Year 10–12 students.
• Have a passion for sport, technology, numbers or media.
• No prior expertise as a maths whizz or sports expert is required.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm are sought.

• Chance to see how a sports data business really works, from the moment a play happens on the field to the moment it appears on screen.
