Job description
About the Role
This role will spearhead growth, strategic partnerships, and new business acquisition across the United States live sports broadcast market. It is responsible for driving revenue, expanding the pipeline with broadcast rights holders, and commercialising next-generation live sports production platforms, including real-time tracking data, on-air graphics, and scorebug technology. Serving as the primary business development interface in the US, the individual will connect regional sports networks, over-the-air station groups, national networks, leagues, and team production units with the company's global product and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted business development strategies to penetrate the US professional and collegiate sports broadcast landscape.
- Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities across regional sports networks, over-the-air (OTA) station groups such as Gray, Sinclair, TEGNA, and Scripps, streaming platforms, and team in-house production arms.
- Own and manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from initial executive outreach and discovery through contract execution and partner onboarding, while achieving and exceeding annual revenue, pipeline, and booking targets.
- Partner closely with product specialists and live operations teams to coordinate truck-side setups, control room demonstrations, and live-game proofs-of-concept.
- Deliver high-impact technical and commercial presentations to key broadcast decision-makers, showcasing real-time graphics engines, arena timing integration, and dynamic sponsorship placement capabilities.
- Establish, nurture, and expand high-level relationships with VPs of Broadcasting, Executive Producers, Directors of Live Production, and Chief Technology Officers across the US sports media landscape.
- Represent the company at major industry conferences, production summits such as SVG, and league broadcast meetings to enhance brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
- Lead RFP/RFI submissions, proposal development, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations, structuring multi-year software licensing, hardware appliance leases, and live broadcast service level agreements that maximise recurring revenue and long-term margins.
- Act as the voice of the US broadcast market, synthesising customer feedback, control room workflow requirements, and distribution trends such as OTA migration, DTC streaming, and AR/data integration to guide global product roadmaps and feature prioritisation.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with senior leadership and global operations to ensure seamless client onboarding and support during live game broadcast windows.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of proven business development, enterprise sales, or partnership leadership experience within the US live sports production, broadcast graphics, or sports technology sectors.
- Hands-on familiarity with live control room workflows, mobile production units (OB trucks), real-time graphics platforms (Unreal Engine, Vizrt, Chyron, Ross), and official timing/stat distribution interfaces.
- Active, demonstrable relationships with broadcast executives, production heads, and engineering directors across NBA, NHL, MLB, and collegiate broadcast ecosystems.
- Proven track record of closing high-value, multi-year technology licensing, SaaS, or broadcast service agreements.
- Exceptional executive presence, presentation skills, and technical aptitude to discuss both high-level business models and ground-level broadcast operations.
