Job description
About the Role
Under Armour is seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Sr. Professional, Global Material Planning to strengthen end-to-end material readiness across Apparel, Footwear, Accessories, and Packaging. The role translates demand, supply, production, and bill-of-material signals into actionable material plans, identifies supply and inventory risks, and partners with Tier 2 suppliers to help ensure materials are available to support production and service objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage material requirements for assigned product categories, suppliers, and supply networks, translating demand forecasts, production plans, and bill-of-material requirements into time-phased material needs.
- Monitor material availability and inventory positions to identify shortages, excesses, and potential service risks.
- Partner directly with Tier 2 suppliers, mills, and material vendors to understand supply status, commitments, lead times, capacity, and emerging risks.
- Collect, validate, and analyse supplier forecasts, inventory positions, and capacity information, assessing supplier readiness — including labour, equipment, production capacity, and material pipeline preparedness — against forecasted demand.
- Execute recurring material forecast processes for fabrics, trims, packaging, and specialised materials.
- Analyse supplier execution and material delivery feedback to identify risks, trends, and continuous-improvement opportunities.
- Assess material liability and supply exposure resulting from forecast changes, cancellations, and demand shifts, including yardage, inventory, and cost impacts.
- Proactively identify Tier 2 material constraints and assess downstream impacts to Tier 1 production, finished-goods availability, and service.
- Partner with Supply Planning and Sourcing to prioritise demand, protect constrained supply, and develop mitigation strategies, supporting allocation and demand-governance decisions through risk assessment and supply-based recommendations.
- Support the governance and integrity of material-planning inputs, including BOMs, supplier data, yields, units of measure, and planning parameters.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, standardise recurring processes, and improve reporting automation, and participate in planning-transformation initiatives involving Blue Yonder, SAP, AI, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, and other planning technologies.
- Contribute to continuous-improvement efforts focused on planning efficiency, visibility, traceability, and decision quality, and collaborate with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Sourcing, Product Development, Logistics, Supplier Management
- And other business partners to communicate material readiness, risks, opportunities, and supply-based recommendations.
Required Experience & Qualifications

- 2 to 5 years of experience in supply chain planning, materials planning, procurement, inventory management, production planning, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets.
- Experience using enterprise planning, ERP, analytics, or reporting systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across functions and regions.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP, Blue Yonder, Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI, or AI.
- Experience supporting global suppliers, Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners, or manufacturing networks.
- Knowledge of apparel, footwear, accessories, packaging, or consumer-goods supply chains.
- Understanding of BOM structures, material consumption, units-of-measure conversion, supplier capacity, and material lead times.
- Experience with scenario planning, supply-risk management, inventory optimisation, or planning transformation.
