Software Engineer III, ITC

This role sits within Geographies & Marketplace Experiences, reporting to an Engineering Manager and working in a dedicated engineering team. It is part of a mission-critical team focused on building a high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Order Management platform that drives Nike's digital transformation and growth strategies. The engineer contributes to next-generation tools and services that serve consumer-ready product information to Nike experiences and back-end teams, while the organisation modernises its product data platform and builds scalable cloud applications and services.

• Participate in the technical development and delivery of backend cloud-native microservices and build next-generation tools and services that serve consumer-ready product information to Nike experiences and back-end teams.
• Contribute ideas for new features and identify technical areas for improvement, collaborating proactively with product team members to design, develop, and deploy a highly scalable digital asset management system and services.
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code, perform peer code reviews, and mentor other engineers on the team.
• Remain current with industry trends and participate in the development of key innovation features.
• Support the team's agile practices, participate in sprint planning and other scrum ceremonies, help plan and execute sprint tickets, and promote continuous improvement and collaboration to deliver consumer experiences at scale.
• Leverage GenAI-powered capabilities, including RAG, prompt-driven workflows, MCP, and spec-driven architectures, to deliver faster, scalable, and intelligent capabilities and experiences.
• Ensure quality of code and products throughout the entire development lifecycle and drive continuous improvement in performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, usability, and availability of the platform.
• Work in a full DevOps model across the entire tech stack, including designing, implementing, deploying, monitoring, and operating services at scale, with strong observability and operational readiness using Splunk and SignalFx, including monitoring and alerting.
• Resolve technical issues and remove blockers for the team, actively participate in code review and feedback for other developers, and own build, test, release, and production support for team-owned capabilities, ensuring stability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.

• A minimum of 7+ years of software development experience.
• Experience working in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environment.
• Experience working in a distributed or cloud-based environment (e.g. AWS Services, GCE, Azure, etc.).
• Experience in microservice architecture, domain-driven design, and RESTful services using Java and Spring Boot framework.
• Demonstrated ability to independently drive end-to-end project execution, owning design, development, cross-team coordination, and delivery.
• Demonstrated AI-first mindset, actively leveraging AI-powered developer tools (e.g. Cursor) to accelerate development and learning.
• Experience in test-driven development with JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, Playwright, etc.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and tracing tools such as New Relic, Splunk, SignalFx, Kibana/Grafana, etc.
• Experience working with NoSQL data stores such as DynamoDB and relational data stores such as MySQL, Oracle, etc.
• Experience with continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests.
• Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with globally distributed and diverse teams.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of projects or capabilities, including requirements evaluation, design, implementation, code reviews, observability, maintenance, and support.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another relevant subject area, or equivalent experience.

• Exposure to eCommerce and Supply Chain domain areas such as order management, fulfilment, and warehouse management.
• Experience as a Full Stack Developer with strong expertise across both backend services and frontend web applications.
