Job description
About the Role
Is a senior, newly created position reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, sitting outside individual sales and product teams so its primary focus is the quality of what is brought to customers. It acts as the leading voice on industry dynamics across sport, media and entertainment, shaping how the business sees the market and what it brings to each customer. The postholder owns priority opportunities from first idea to presentation, joins pitches alongside Sales and Solutions colleagues, and sets the quality bar for proposals sent to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the go-to thought leader on industry dynamics across sport, media and entertainment, shaping how the business sees the market and where it is heading.
- Research each target customer's commercial performance, audience trends, strengths, weaknesses and competitive landscape, and build a clear view of what they need ahead of upsell and new-business pursuits.
- Own priority pitches end to end, from ideation to presentation, often within a two-week window.
- Combine high-level briefs, research and existing material into the most compelling customer-specific narrative.
- Build growth-focused messaging centred on the customer outcomes the business delivers and showcase innovation and AI strategies to deliver compelling results for clients.
- Join pitches alongside Sales and Solutions colleagues, bringing vision, market view and consumer perspective, and act as an evangelist for the company's point of view with prospects and clients.
- Review proposals across the team day to day and elevate them before they go out so every one is sharp, accurate and specific to its audience.
- Give clear, constructive critique to material producers, helping turn solid work into targeted work, and recommend how overall messaging frameworks for prospects and clients should evolve.
- Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Design, Product and Digital Strategy & Growth Services, adding strategic depth without duplicating their work.
- Bring senior stakeholders with strong views, inside the business and at clients, round to new ways of positioning when the evidence supports it, and build trusted relationships across the Revenue team so colleagues involve the role early rather than at final review.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years in strategy, insight or pitch roles within a digital-first business, such as a digital publisher, OTT or streaming platform, broadcaster, sports marketing agency or strategic consultancy.
- Demonstrable ability to research a business and its competitors and turn findings into a clear, actionable recommendation.
- Strong storytelling skills, with pitches owned from ideation to presentation for senior client audiences and the confidence to present them personally.
- A portfolio of strategy or pitch work that can be walked through, anonymised where needed.
- Experience reviewing other people's work and giving specific, constructive feedback that improves the result.
- A track record of influencing senior, strong-minded stakeholders and shaping the conversation towards the right outcome.
- Familiarity with B2B sales cycles, including upsell and new-business pursuits.
- AI-native ways of working, including extensive, hands-on use of AI tools in research, analysis and content creation.
- Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and what makes a digital product experience work well for its audience.
- Ability to balance deep work on a priority opportunity with fast, high-quality reviews across many proposals.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel on an ad hoc basis.
Preferred Skills
- Experience ideally in sport, media or entertainment.
- Digital-first and creative approach, with a love of building the story.
- Ability to dig into a customer's business before opening a slide deck and to bring ideas rather than requirements.
- Ability to give honest feedback in a way that strengthens working relationships.
- Ability to bring strong-minded colleagues and clients along and use AI to move faster without lowering the bar.
- Ability to work well with colleagues from different countries, disciplines and backgrounds and to make people around them better at what they present.
Workplace
- UK-based role offered on a UK employment contract.
- Candidates must be based in the UK; remote working from outside the UK is not supported due to local employment and tax legislation.
The Application Process
The process includes an introductory conversation, a conversation with the Chief Revenue Officer, and a case study presentation for shortlisted candidates. The company can adjust formats and welcomes accessibility or accommodation questions at any stage.
- Introductory conversation with the Talent Acquisition team to get to know each other and ask questions about Deltatre.
- 30-minute conversation with the Chief Revenue Officer covering experience and approach to customer strategy and storytelling.
- Case study presentation for shortlisted candidates, who receive a brief and present their response to a panel from the Revenue team.
- Walk through examples from your portfolio during the case study stage.
- Request adjustments if any format would be difficult; the company can usually accommodate.
- Raise accessibility or accommodation questions at any stage.
