Lifeguard

This role plays a vital part in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members, ensuring the highest standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience. It sits within the Operations Team and acts as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations and maintaining operational excellence. The role requires consistent delivery of exceptional service every day and accountability for poolside and spa safety.

• Create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for members, ensuring high standards of poolside safety, cleanliness and member experience.
• Act as a trusted ambassador for the club, responding confidently to situations and maintaining operational excellence and exceptional service.
• Ensure the safety of members in the pool and spa areas, taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Act in a safe manner, complete safety checks and record them accurately.
• Monitor water chemical levels and clean the water when appropriate.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to the high standards of Virgin Active.
• Comply with all mandatory training and health and safety requirements.
• Fulfil Duty Shifts when required, taking responsibility and accountability during the shift and controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.

• Current Lifeguard qualification and full registration with either an IQL National Pool Qualification (RLSS), HABC Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding (RQF) or STA Professional Award for Pool Lifeguard (RQF).
• Friendly, calm and approachable nature with the ability to act quickly and effectively at all times.

• Part-time role, 32 hours per week
