Job description
About the Role
Will build software features in either back-end or front-end domains. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, it sits within the Product & Technology Team and ensures systematic and efficient development through all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle. The engineer will collaborate with colleagues and contribute to delivering excellence for one of the world's biggest online gaming and entertainment groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Build software features in either back-end or front-end domains.
- Develop and deliver well-defined, moderately complex features.
- Debug and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code following best practices.
- Manage team meetings and RFC processes for proposing changes and improvements.
- Act as an initial on-call responder for team-managed software.
- Collaborate with team members, support new junior engineers, and mentor Software Engineers.
- Participate in hiring, prioritise intra-team plans, and contribute to process improvements.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Expert in Java programming with modern language features and frameworks.
- 5+ years of experience within distributed architectures.
- Experience with frontend framework (Angular) and JavaScript.
- Proficient in object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and SQL.
- 5+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle, database management, API integration, and modern tools like Swagger.
- Adept in application monitoring, logging, version control, and software testing.
- Familiar with automation, applications, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and secure coding practices.
- Knowledgeable in Microservices, event-driven architectures, and Agile Development principles.
