UI Artist

This role is for an exceptionally talented UI Artist to join a team of developers in creating high-quality user interfaces that deliver an intuitive and enjoyable experience. The UI Artist will work closely with the UI team to support the established art direction and develop polished features. The position sits within a one-project studio environment.

• Work closely with the UI team to create, implement and maintain UI materials, shaders and Unreal Engine UMG that support the established art direction.
• Collaborate on the development of UI visual concepts, wireframes and functional prototypes.
• Support design and user feedback to develop and polish features to a high standard of visual and functional quality.
• Work with a team of developers to create high-quality user interfaces that deliver an intuitive and enjoyable experience.

• Experience designing UI for games, or transferable interactive or product UI experience.
• Experience implementing UI in Unreal Engine or a similar engine.
• Confidence working with widgets, materials, shaders and visual scripting.
• Graphic design fundamentals — layout, iconography, typography and colour theory.
• A player-focused approach to design, with a solid grounding in core UI and usability principles.
• Able to explain and justify design decisions clearly to artists, designers and engineers.
• Confidence with industry-standard design tools such as Figma and the Adobe Suite, or equivalents.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience to action effective and practical solutions.
• Ability to work together with a team of developers.

• Hybrid work model combining remote and in-office work, following current company policy and to be agreed with the Line Manager.
• Skydance or the Line Manager reserves the right to change the working agreement where essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice, subject to applicable laws.
