Job description
About the Role
The Creative Technologist will join THE·TEAM's social creative team supporting Gemini social and influencer marketing, a group of thinkers and makers defining how AI can creatively and meaningfully engage with the world. The role sits at the intersection of design, engineering and culture, prototyping and experimenting with cutting-edge technologies to bring innovative ideas to life. The postholder acts as a bridge between ambitious internal ideas and the broader developer and creator community, as well as between concept and working code.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with strategists and creatives to brainstorm and then rapidly build interactive prototypes, technical proofs-of-concept and social-first experiments.
- Create social-first concepts and extend major brand campaigns across social platforms.
- Assist with leading technical briefings for creator partners producing content powered by Gemini, educating them on capabilities, workflows and novel features.
- Review partner concepts and content to identify high-impact, feasible use cases and ensure top-tier execution.
- Explore and implement the latest advancements in AI/ML — particularly large language models, generative tools and the Gemini API via Google AI Studio — to inspire novel social experiences.
- Stay at the leading edge of emerging technologies, social behaviours and digital art, and translate those signals into actionable creative ideas for Android and Google Play.
- Work closely with Gemini Marketing to launch experiments and identify partners who can scale successful innovations.
- Build the tools that help others create.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Solid foundation in front-end development (TypeScript) and back-end development (Python, node.js, Go).
- Fluency in one or more general-purpose languages: Python, JavaScript, Go, Java, Ruby or PHP.
- Hands-on experience building with the Google Gemini app, Antigravity, the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, including prompt engineering and LLM-based application development.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and generative tools, and how to apply them in creative and social contexts.
- Experience building web and interactive experiences using three.js, WebGL or comparable technologies.
- Comfort working within Google Cloud Platform, including server-side experience.
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience with API integration — connecting services, webhooks and third-party platforms.
- Comfort presenting at and assisting with workshops at creator-focused events, running workshops, writing technical content, or engaging developer and creator communities.
- Entrepreneurial at heart, resourceful under pressure, fluent in creative and technical language, equally comfortable in a code editor and on a stage, and energised by absurdly ambitious timelines.
Preferred Skills
- A love for hardware, interfaces and experimental UI.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro).
- Backgrounds in copywriting, art direction or filmmaking.
Salary
- Base salary range: $175–200K, plus bonus potential if applicable for the role.
