Systems Software Engineer - EA SPORTS FC

Sits within EA SPORTS' systems engineering team, which maintains a broad view of the game and engine systems and seeks improvements in performance, utility and capabilities for players, as well as workflow enhancements for the development team. The engineer will help push the primary systems and shared engine into the future, prototyping and planning while collaborating with other engineers. The position reports directly to the Development Director and involves building systems, workflows and capabilities that allow the team to work smarter and deliver substantial improvements to the game.

• Work with design and other engineers to provide feedback and create clear, estimable technical designs.
• Provide tested, high-quality technical implementations that meet requirements.
• Maintain awareness of how technical implementation impacts performance and memory budgets.
• Identify ways to increase team efficiency through tooling or workflow enhancements.
• Contribute to core EA technologies in an architecturally sound way to promote collaborative development efforts.

• Experience with the development craft and demonstrated interest in systems-level work.
• Understanding of the C++ language, best practices and architectural considerations.
• Ability to communicate well with non-technical partners such as Artists, Designers and Producers.
• Experience with parallel programming considerations, resource management and hardware architecture.
• Experience in engine development.
• 3 years of experience with C++.
• Understanding of x86 assembly.
• Experience with performance and memory profiling tools.
• Experience in embedded systems.
• Experience in job-based architectures.

• Hybrid work from Bucharest or remote work from Romania.
