Role Description

Women's National Assistant Coach (Youth Development Phase)

Fixed term contract until 31 July 2021

Home Based

  • Reporting to the England Women's Under 16 Head Coach, you will work as a Women's National Team Assistant Coach delivering team tactical and technical components as well as supporting the implementation of the Women's Blueprint for Success including How We Play, How We Coach & Support, Who We Are and How We Operate to optimise the England Women's player pathway.
  • You will work with the Head of Women's Technical, the Youth Development Phase Performance Manager and other National Coaches to enhance and influence the development of young English female players contributing to the overall National Team Strategy to build winning England teams.
  • You must be an inspirational candidate both on and off the pitch, who can demonstrate outstanding technical and tactical knowledge and delivery. The ability to collaborate and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential to this role.
  • You will be required to work within a cohesive multidisciplinary environment and contribute to the development of players and squads based upon agreed team objectives within the Women's Blueprint for Success. You will help ensure a high-performance culture promoting an open exchange of views, high levels of challenge and the celebration of success.
  • You will have an excellent track record of developing individual players, leading within this role the collaborative creation and implementation of England Individual Development Plans. You will contribute to the development of detailed short, medium and long term plans for all international events with excellent preparation and review phases.

Key Accountabilities

  • You will be an outstanding football coach with a track record of consistent and successful development of female players within an elite environment. You will possess an excellent knowledge and experience of working within the women's game at Youth Development Phase level as a technical coach.
  • With minimum qualifications of the UEFA A Licence and strong evidence of continued professional development throughout your career.

Thriving under pressure you will always recover from setbacks quickly, be an excellent relationship builder and have an extensive professional coaching network in the women's game. You will enjoy building relationships with different groups of people and you can influence internally and externally to achieve your goals. A meticulous planner, you will be comfortable translating your vision into goals and deliverables which you take great pride in delivering on and off the pitch. Communication will be a stand out strength in all forms, allowing you to get your message across clearly at all times.
