UEFA Women's EURO 2022 Marketing Coordinator

The tournament:

In 2022, England will play host to UEFA Women's EURO 2022 at venues across the country. The final will be staged at Wembley Stadium, seeing back-to-back men's and women's UEFA EURO finals in 2021 and 2022. Hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to attend the tournament in cities across England and millions more will watch the globally-televised event.

The role:

The Marketing Coordinator will support the development and implementation of an integrated marketing and communications strategy for UEFA Women's EURO 2022 to be held across England in July 2022. A particular focus would be on the ticket marketing aspect - maximising ticket sales across the various Host Cities and Venues, supporting the implementation and delivery of the marketing strategy, creative implementation, above and below the line campaigns, digital marketing, influencer marketing, paid media and brand management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of the tournament marketing strategy and plan, helping to raise tournament awareness, engage the UK population and promote the Tournament.
  • Support the development and delivery of a ticketing-driving marketing and PR campaign targeting key audiences including those new to women's football to achieve agreed KPIs for UEFA Women's EURO 2022.
  • Work in collaboration with The FA marketing and digital teams and the UEFA marketing team to ensure alignment and to implement the various campaigns and activities in the promotional plan.
  • Work in collaboration with the tournament Host Cities and Venues to deliver best in class marketing activations including creative development, digital marketing, social media marketing, OOH, print and digital media, influencer marketing, in match fan experience and promotional event delivery.
  • Brief and deliver marketing materials and assets required to effectively support campaigns - creating high quality elements for all relevant channels in a timely manner.
  • Lead on specific marketing projects linked to the overall marcomms strategy such as schools and clubs programmes to drive tournament awareness and engagement.
  • Lead on the delivery of a marcomms plan to support the recruitment of tournament volunteers
  • Support on the marcomms delivery of the tournament legacy programme designed to drive growth in participation of women's and girls' football
  • Take ownership and be a brand champion for the new UEFA Women's EURO 2022 brand across all platforms and partners.
  • Work in collaboration with key stakeholders including host city working groups, host football clubs, sponsors and partners across activation programmes and plans.
  • Collaboration with key commercial and broadcast partners in conjunction with UEFA to maximise the reach and engagement of sponsor and broadcaster partner activations.
  • Support the management of external agencies including creative and media to deliver agreed plans and attain KPIs.
  • Ensure all activities are based on insight, targeted at key fan groups, grounded in data and tracked with clear KPIs.
  • To act as a brand ambassador for UEFA Women's EURO 2022, championing the event and driving collaboration and engagement both inside and outside the organisation.
  • Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet the tournament's changing priorities.
  • Build, own and leverage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Experience and Skills required:

  • A good understanding of the sports market place, digital marketing and brand delivery
  • Must have relevant marketing experience including the development and delivery of integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns that can be adapted quickly to changing circumstances
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and agencies
  • A good understanding of data and insight for digital marketing purposes
  • Good knowledge and ability across all types of digital marketing including content creation, digital media, social media and influencer marketing
  • Willingness to innovate and embrace new technology
  • Experience in project management and delivering multiple tasks to deadline
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build and manage multiple stakeholder relationships
  • Able to work on own initiative; is accountable and reliable
  • Confident communicator across key stakeholder groups and partners
  • An interest in football and knowledge of women's football would be a plus
  • Sports marketing and/or ticket marketing experience would be ideal
  • Experience in developing creative email/CRM campaigns with commercial objectives
  • Reporting and measuring on campaign effectiveness across all channels
