The tournament:
In 2020, the UEFA EURO was due to celebrate its 60th anniversary. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed to 2021. With the aim to still celebrate its 60th anniversary, the tournament will still be played across 12 different European cities - bringing the EURO closer to the fans and celebrating the best of European football and culture. To make this all possible, we need fantastic, dedicated people in every area.
The organisation:
UEFA EURO 2020 is being managed in each participating country by the respective national federation on behalf of UEFA. As the Host Association and national federation for England, The FA is responsible for the overall delivery and coordination of the Local Organising Structure (LOS), working in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

The role:
Reporting into the Senior Stadium Manager, the UEFA EURO 2020 Stadium Manager will take the lead on the planning and delivery of key external sites across the Wembley Park Estate that form part of the overall Stadium delivery in line with the UEFA EURO 2020 Tournament Requirements, whilst ensuring they are implemented operationally and cost effectively for the tournament, and in line with the relevant Venue and Stakeholder regulations
Key Responsibilities include:
- To work closely with local landowners and authorities on the delivery of EURO on a multi-stakeholder stadium site; working alongside existing stadium staff to ensure a coordinated approach for the delivery of the tournament
- To be the primary point of contact for all allocated functional area delivery aspects of UEFA EURO 2020 for the UEFA team, and supporting the Senior Stadium Manager as the point of contact for The FA, WNSL and all local stakeholders
- To manage the delivery of all allocated delivery areas - most notably the Wembley Arena site and all external Commercial Activation sites across the Estate
- To work closely with EURO 2020 stadium staff appointed both by the LOS and directly by UEFA
- To be a key point of contact for UEFA in order to deliver an efficient and coordinated approach to enable the smooth delivery of the stadium in line with the Tournament Requirements
- To manage the all planning, preparation, implementation and event delivery for all allocated functional areas - notably Wembley Arena and the external Commercial Activation sites that will be implemented as part of the wider site Tournament activation
- Become the primary contact for those key external stakeholders such as ASM Global and Quintain
- Tournament time event management, leading of briefings and dissemination of information to all involved departments and staff and leading on the delivery of all allocated areas throughout the UEFA tenancy
- Supporting the Senior Stadium Manager as appropriate across other areas of the tournament Stadium delivery
Experience and skills required:
- Previous experience of working on large-scale / major events
- Background in the management of Stadium/Event overlay
- Must be a self-starting event/project manager
- Problem-solver - ability to use own initiative and find new solutions and working methods to enable the smooth delivery of the events
- Highly motivated and passionate with experience of managing sporting events
- Excellent communicator capable of both establishing and building working relationships with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills and management
- Flexible approach to working hours
- A working knowledge of UEFA events would be a plus
- Knowledge of Wembley Stadium would be an asset
- IOSH / NEBOSH qualification would be a plus
- Must have a valid and clean driver's license
