Birmingham 2022 are looking for an experienced Training Functional Manager, who will be key to the successful and timely development, management and delivery of Birmingham 2022's training across all workforce groups including Organising Committee (OC) staff, volunteers, and contractors. Critical areas include:
- Defining the OC's training strategy and alignment with operational readiness planning,
- The design and development of the OC's Learning Management System,
- Leading a team of Training designers to create the required blended Games time training content,
- Effective relationship management across the business and with key external delivery partners,
- Drive objectives in supporting effective contractor integration efforts into Games time workforce.
Responsibilities
Strategy Development & Delivery
- Development and implementation of the Games time Workforce Training Strategy covering the training pillars of orientation, role specific, venue specific and event leadership.
- Development of the strategy for internal communication to cover paid staff, volunteers and contractors (in consultation with Communications and Public Relations area)
- Work across the business to align with other internal plans including Games readiness, Workforce mobilisation, and internal communications etc.
Stakeholder, Project and Relationship Management
- Effectively manage the expectations and integration of all stakeholders including government agencies, Games partners, alongside other identified parties in relation to training.
- Oversee the effective partnership with all training venue providers, and partners involved with training delivery.
Implementation and delivery of training and related programmes.
- Develop, implement and manage a purpose- built Games time Workforce Training program for all workforce members (including paid staff, volunteers and contractors) that meets the changing needs of the organisation from training needs analysis to training delivery.
- Ensure delivery aligns with Games readiness planning enabling all workforce members gain and retain the skills necessary in order to deliver the Games.
- Effectively work with Training partners and stakeholders to create and deliver desired accredited training programme.
- Create and support the plans necessary to develop and deliver an LMS system sharing applicable online training.
- Identification, prioritisation and development of corporate and Games training with the recommended delivery solutions including face-2-face and online learning.
- Manage team of training designers to generate the required bended training approach to support the workforce being Games ready.
- Lead deliverer of core training materials to staff (including senior management team) and volunteers.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience in developing and implementing organisation-wide training that:
- delivers the vision and purpose of an organisation
- promote an organisation to effectively embrace change
- Proven experience of balancing a diverse range of needs of internal clients and external stakeholders
- Experience delivering and facilitating key employee development programs - I e. team building, leadership and management development
- Technical knowledge of training program development and latest best practice in effectively utilising e.training.
- People Management and leadership
Desirable
- Qualification(s) in Learning & Development and understanding of implementing latest methodologies and practice.
- An understanding of the Training Market, best practice, and applicable developments for successfully delivery.
- Previous experience in a previous large-scale sporting event highly desirable.
- Experience of designing and developing learning management system(s)
