Reporting into the Senior Tournaments Manager, the Tournament Delivery Assistant will assist in the successful delivery of two high profile international events through the provision of administration support to the entire tournament delivery team across both UEFA EURO 2020 and UEFA Women's EURO 2022. The tournament:
In 2020, the UEFA EURO was due to celebrate its 60th anniversary. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed to 2021. With the aim to still celebrate its 60th anniversary, the tournament will still be played across 12 different European cities - bringing the EURO closer to the fans and celebrating the best of European football and culture. To make this all possible, we need fantastic, dedicated people in every area.
In 2022, England will play host to UEFA Women's EURO 2022 at venues across the country. The final will be staged at Wembley Stadium, seeing back-to-back men's and women's UEFA EURO finals in 2021 and 2022.
The organisation:
UEFA EURO 2020 & Women's EURO 2022 is being managed in each participating country by the respective national federation on behalf of UEFA. As the Host Association and national federation for England, The FA is responsible for the overall delivery and coordination of the Local Organising Structure (LOS), working in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

The role:
Reporting into the Senior Tournaments Manager, the Tournament Delivery Assistant will assist in the successful delivery of two high profile international events through the provision of administration support to the entire tournament delivery team across both UEFA EURO 2020 and UEFA Women's EURO 2022. This will involve administrative assistance but also the undertaking specific projects to ensure the tournaments are delivered in a connected and collaborative manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- As part of the Local Organising Structure for both tournaments, you will be a central point of contact for all tournament matters, holding responsibility for a range of coordination and administrative duties including all stakeholder communications and coordination of meetings
- Assist all Senior Managers and their teams with a variety of tasks including the preparation of presentations, papers, accreditation requests and general administration.
- Responsible for the organisation of UEFA site visits, including travel arrangements, room bookings as well as scheduling and coordinating meetings.
- Responsible for overseeing the processing and payment of project costs and invoices and maintaining accurate budgets.
- To be the central point of contact for UEFA colleagues regarding all aspects of the tournament administration and maintain relations with the UEFA Events and Competitions Teams.
- Assist in the delivery of both tournaments in line the bid document and UEFA's operational principles, to deliver, on budget, exceptional tournaments in line with The FA's aims and objectives.
- In addition to providing general support to the team, the right candidate will have the opportunity and desire to take on additional responsibilities within the project and play a key role in the delivery of the tournaments.
- Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
Experience and skills required:
- Motivated and passionate about working within sporting events. Previous experience in major events is beneficial
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Extensive experience in the MS Office suite
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and be asked for support from various members of the team at any time
- Confidentiality as at times will have access to sensitive information
- Approachable and proactive attitude to solving issues
- A desire to take on new tasks and areas of responsibility.
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Ability to both establish and maintain relationships with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
- An understanding of football and the structures within the game would be an assed
- European foreign languages advantageous
- Willingness to travel across England
