The Role:

The Social Media Coordinator will deliver SportsPro’s social media plan, optimising all existing content creation, media and event projects, and identify the most appropriate channels and approach.

The ideal candidate will ideally have knowledge of B2B social media best practice and experience of using social platforms from both an editorial content and marketing perspective.

Working with colleagues in both the SportsPro Editorial and Marketing Team, they will agree and deliver global targets, coordinate social activity and monitor the success of predominantly organic campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a market-leading, global B2B publisher and events business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media Management and Publishing – 60%

  • Produce and publish social media content that directly contributes to the Editorial and Marketing Teams’ digital objectives and act as a conduit between the two departments to maximise the efficiency of SportsPro’s content output across social
  • Ability to create engaging social media campaigns that drive awareness and action
  • Drive content generation and re-purposing to increase engagement
  • Create posts that match the channel’s audience/positioning and adhere to SportsPro’s editorial and marketing style, guidelines and objectives
  • Incorporate relevant new projects and products into the social media calendar, as well as potential PR opportunities when necessary
  • On an ad hoc basis, investigate, manage, review and optimise paid social campaigns

Strategy/Planning and Content Ideation – 30%

  • Work with the editorial staff to develop an effective calendar to promote our content, grow our social engagement and drive consumption of website, multimedia (audio/visual) and newsletter content
  • Work with the marketing staff to deliver a timeline of activity in support of event marketing campaigns, and grow social awareness of our products, as well as SportsPro’s overall brand presence
  • Define and achieve goals for audience acquisition and engagement across key channels (currently LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram)
  • Attend SportsPro events to amplify and create unique content from various sources such as live sessions as well as covering wider event activations
  • Support editorial staff and (where relevant) senior management on personal social media outreach and profile building

Reporting & General Operations – 10%

  • Collect regular, targeted social media analytics, share them across various internal teams and Management, and use them to plan improvements to the overall SportsPro brand
  • Collaboration with and support of your colleagues and SportsPro’s network across ad-hoc project deliverables, and ensuring that you are delivering the correct content across social media to maintain brand consistency and growth
  • Support the Production, Commercial and Events Content teams to execute client and event campaigns where necessary, as an extension of your Editorial and Marketing focus


  • Social copywriting skills
  • Experience in social media publishing and an appetite to develop your career within digital marketing
  • Technical and professional knowledge of social media platforms as well as monitoring tools
  • Working knowledge of best practice for posting news and information on major social platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn content creation tools for both video and images such as Canva etc.
  • Belief in quality and upholding the high standards that SportsPro is known for from a written and visual content perspective
  • 1-2 years of experience
