The Role:
In our newly created Senior Events and Operations Lead role, you’ll be an integral part of the team by leading the operational delivery of the Glasgow Events Strategy across the team, organisation and city to maximise the economic, tourism and social benefits of events to Glasgow. Reporting to the Head of Events and working alongside the events team. The postholder will have a particular focus on leading the teams responsible for the delivery and growth of the city’s annual sports and cultural events portfolio, as well as leading the feasibility and bidding for major events to secure a future pipeline of one-off and recurring events.
The Candidate:
As Senior Events and Operations Lead, you’ll need:
• To be educated to degree level or equivalent senior level experience leading the planning and delivery of major events
• A successful track record in managing a multi-functional team to deliver major sporting or cultural events within a £multi-million budget
• An ability to build strong relationships and manage the requirements of a wide range of stakeholders, across all levels and international jurisdictions
• Proven ability to lead innovation and change, including experience with varied event delivery models
