Sportfive UK is looking for an outstanding candidate to build a hospitality sales function, and lead a successful process for our UEFA Euro 2024 sales programme. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to create a new division from the ground-up, recruiting the right talent, developing the full go-to-market strategy and executing on a sales plan.  The individual will have overall responsibility for an 8 figure budget target.

The successful candidate should be an expert in managing sports hospitality sales teams, have an acute understanding on how to execute hospitality sales processes, be comfortable working with autonomy, be used to a high-pressure environment, and able to become a key member of the sales management team.  They should also be able to consider strategic future growth opportunities, analyse and evaluate new sales projects, develop and present commercial recommendations to the business, and create robust budget plans.

Sportfive is a leading Global Sports Marketing Organisation. We operate in over 15 countries worldwide with more than 1,000 colleagues across Football, Golf, Esports, Tennis, Basketball & Major Multi-Sport Events.

Our portfolio of assets include some of the highest profile sponsorship teams and events in world sport including LA Lakers; Chelsea FC; New York Knicks; Ferrari; British Olympic Association (Team GB); The English Football Association; Fnatic etc. In addition, we have perimeter advertising sales contracts at 11 Premier League teams, 21 teams Football League Championship teams, and packages across both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?

  • The achievement of the UK Hospitality Sales Revenue target for UEFA EURO 2024.
  • Build and maintain outstanding relationships with brands and colleagues.
  • Develop a future growth plan to lead the hospitality sales function post UEFA EURO 2024

OUR PREFERED CANDIDATE:

  • Sales Head/Director level exec with a track record in leading hospitality sales teams and processes, with preferably over 10 years’ experience
  • An outstanding sales individual, who can recruit, lead and manage a team
  • A high work ethic able to thrive in a high-pressure environment
  • Team player who can self-motivate and work with autonomy
    • Outstanding communication, presentation and negotiation skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop the full UK go-to-market sales plan for UEFA Euro 2024 in order to achieve the divisional revenue target

  • Liaise with the central hospitality team to ensure we have full strategic alignment across the project

  • Work with the central team, and use competitive intelligence and market benchmarking, to develop a local product and pricing strategy to maximise revenue

  • Identify and recruit the right talent to deliver on the sales plan, and operationally manage the team on a day-to-day basis

  • Take responsibility for development of the full end-to-end sales process; including the prospecting strategy, client presentations and meetings, commercial negotiations and contractual finalisation.

  • Lead by example in delivering individual sales success consistently, and taking accountability for the achievement of target

  • Ensure the team are consistently achieving high market outreach and excellent sales results

  • Develop a local marketing plan to support the sales effort

  • Work with our graphic designers, and data specialists to ensure sales collateral is of a best-in-class standard and locally appropriate

  • Work with our internal VIP Travel team to upsell clients with high-end travel and event services for UEFA Euro 2024

  • Provide weekly updates at team sales meetings showcasing activity and pipeline development, business closed, as well as fulfil internal reporting requirements for Senior Management Board

  • Work successfully with other sales managers and reps to leverage existing brand relationships and cross-team sales opportunities.

  • Actively participate in the collection of unpaid bills from clients, in conjunction with the accounting department, and settle any customer disputes appropriately

  • Ensure the team use SPORTFIVE’s global CRM tool, are in compliance with legislation and regulations in force, and represent SPORTFIVE in the market with high standards

  • Consider new hospitality growth opportunities and work with Strategy and Business Development teams to evaluate the commercial potential and present recommendations to the Senior Management Board
