The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (“HKSI”) is the Government’s delivery agent of elite sports training systems. THE JOB

Reporting to the Head Sailing Coach, the Single-Handed Sailing Coach will be responsible for the following duties:

To coordinate, design, and implement training programmes for elite athletes in ILCA Classes in Hong Kong;
To fully utilize and integrate scientific, medical and other athlete support services into the elite training programme to enhance elite training outcomes;
To monitor athlete performance through comprehensive, multi-method assessment and regular evaluation;
To provide timely and critically analyzed progress reports to the HKSI and Hong Kong Sailing Federation;
To be responsible for administrative matters related to local and overseas squad training and competitions;
To supervise the part-time coaches;
To assist the HKSI and Hong Kong Sailing Federation with coach education programmes; and
Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

THE REQUIREMENTS

University degree or its equivalent;
Holder of a valid coaching certificate issued by the relevant governing body;
A minimum of 5 years’ professional coaching experience and proven record of achievement in coaching Sailing athletes in single-handed classes at national level or its equivalent;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
High level of computer literacy; and
Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.

主要職責

雙人帆船教練須向帆船總教練匯報工作情況，其職責詳列如下：

負責籌劃、設計和執行香港帆船精英運動員 –ILCA的訓練計劃；
在進行精英訓練計劃時，善用所有運動科學、醫療及其他為運動員而設的支援服務，以加強訓練成果；
透過全面性、多方位和定期評估，以監察運動員的表現；
提交適時及具分析性的進度報告予體育學院及香港帆船總會；
負責運動員於本地及海外訓練及比賽的行政工作；
督導兼職教練的工作；
協助體育學院及香港帆船總會的教練培訓工作；及
履行由上司所指派的任何適當工作。

申請資格

大學學位或同等學歷；
持有由相關管理機構頒發的教練証書資歷；
具備最少五年專業教練經驗，及曾帶領帆船運動員在國家級或同等水平賽事中獲得優異成績；
具備良好溝通能力及人際關係；
熟悉電腦操作；及
認識香港保護兒童及平等機會政策為佳。
