The Supervisor is responsible for implementing the strategic direction and drawing-up policies decided by the Supervisory Board as well as coordinating the three bodies of the organisation (SafeR Supervisory Board, SafeR Commission and SafeR Case Management Committee)

Full Description

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the Association Internationale des Organisateurs de Courses Cyclistes (AIOCC), the Association Internationale des Groupes Cyclistes Professionnels (AIGCP), UNIO – the association of women's cycling teams –, the Cyclistes Professionnels Associés (CPA) and the CPA Women have decided in June 2023 of the creation of SafeR (for SafeRoadcycling). This independent entity is dedicated to improving the safety of men's and women's competitions on the UCI International Road Calendar, which is a major concern in modern cycling for the UCI and all the stakeholders of our sport.

The creation of SafeR reflects the common intention of all stakeholders of cycling to collaborate on improving safety in professional road cycling. The number and gravity of incidents in the past years have prompted extensive discussions among the professional road cycling stakeholders, leading to a unanimous agreement on the need for a more structured and systematic approach to ensuring safety. Collaboration was deemed essential to achieve this and enable all stakeholders to actively contribute to improving safety through a dedicated entity.

SafeR will be funded jointly by the organisers, riders, teams and the UCI.

To enable the new and dedicated entity SafeR to begin with its operations and supervise its activities, the cycling stakeholders are seeking a:
