Birmingham 2022 are looking for a Marketing Manager who will act as a brand ambassador and support the development and delivery of innovative and effective marketing, brand and advertising strategies that leverage and protect the Birmingham 2022 brand and ensure Birmingham 2022 meets its ambitious revenue and engagement targets. This role will also support the provision of marketing services to other FAs and have responsibility for managing creative agencies.

The salary range for this role is £29,000-£34,000.


To support the Lead Marketing Manager and wider Marketing department in ensuring that Birmingham 2022 meets its ambitious ticketing, revenue and engagement targets, via inspiring, creative and integrated campaigns.
To support the Lead Marketing Manager in all aspects of Games messaging and promotion.
To support the development and implementation of integrated marketing, brand and advertising strategies.
To specifically develop, own and deliver integrated marketing plans for key campaigns, such as the Queens Baton Relay, including writing of inspiring creative briefs.
Support in the key day-to-day contact for major agencies and suppliers, such as the OC's media buyer and advertising agency.
To work collaboratively with other FAs, such as Communications, to ensure campaigns maximise all owned, earned and paid media opportunities.
To support in management of all strategic and tactical promotions relating to the Games, including with Partners, Sponsors and third parties.
To ensure all possible measures are taken to protect the Birmingham 2022 brand, including the monitoring and approval of its usage.
To support delivery of the Birmingham 2022 Market Research programme.
Help create and deliver detailed, targeted marketing strategies for high-profile campaigns and projects; providing clear direction for colleagues on approach and dependencies.
Ensuring all activities are compliant with brand guidelines; and responsible for approvals, monitoring and reporting relating to brand usage.
Ensuring all activities are evidence-led and measurable, based on findings from the OC research programme.
Ensuring all activities deliver against agreed marketing objectives.
Ensuring all activities are fully planned and fully integrated.
To support in the management of the campaign budgets.
To measure and report against all campaigns on a regular, OC-wide basis.
Help build relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations, identifying and implementing marketing and audience development initiatives and opportunities.
To work closely with colleagues in other FAs to ensure integrated planning and accurate requirements capture strategy, advertising and collateral needs/services.

Skills & Experience Required

* Diploma / degree qualified in marketing (or similar).
* A strategic thinker and brand planner, able to interpret and integrate brand goals, audience research and situational analyses to deliver commercial returns.
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex research, tracking, profiling evidence.
* Ability to thrive in both reactive and proactive environments.
* Proven marketing experience in the fields of major events, sports or consumer-facing brands.
* Proven campaign delivery expertise, delivering engagement and commercial goals.
* Excellent understanding of the media and agency landscape.
* Proven experience of involvement in significant, complex, multiple campaigns and projects.
* Commercial awareness and financially literate.
* Brilliant project and time management skills.
* Visually literate, able to confidently manage, brief and inspire creative agencies.

* CIM qualification or evidence of relevant continual professional development.
* Experience working for a high profile brand or in a sports related environment
