The LTA’s vision is “Tennis Opened Up” and its mission is to make tennis relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable. Our aim is to get more people playing tennis more often. In order to achieve this, the LTA is striving to make tennis safer and embed safeguarding within all aspects of the game, making it a safe and inclusive sport for everyone. Our Legal teamwork across the business, providing legal advice and ensuring integrity and best practice procedures are in place.

We are currently recruiting for a Legal and Safeguarding Support Co-ordinator to provide general administrative/secretarial support to the Legal and Safeguarding teams. We offer a 9 months FTC at our beautiful National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, London.

About the role

Our Legal team work across the business, providing legal advice and ensuring integrity and best practice procedures are in place.

Key Accountabilities

Provide all necessary administrative support in relation to the independent committees/panels of the LTA in terms of the LTA Disciplinary Code, being the Safeguarding and Protection Committee (“SPC”), Disciplinary Panel (“DP”) and Licensing and Registration Committee (“LRC”), including:

  • Providing a point of contact (independent of those investigating a matter or presenting the case) for committee/panel members and others involved in hearings
  • Liaising with members of the relevant committee/panel to establish availability for meetings and hearings
  • Liaising with persons who are the subject of the case before the committee/panel (“respondent”) and witnesses with regard to the arrangements for hearings
  • Working with the Safeguarding and Legal team members to plan in cases for future meetings and chasing deadlines for relevant papers
  • Communicating the details of, and making all necessary arrangements for, meetings and hearings
  • Preparing copies of bundles of papers and sending them to relevant people
  • Arranging for decisions of the relevant committee/panel to be issued on LTA headed notepaper to the respondent and relevant Legal and/or Safeguarding team members
  • Dealing with ad hoc queries from the committee/panel members, respondents and witnesses
  • Liaising with, and providing general support to, members of the Legal and Safeguarding teams in relation to meetings and hearings
  • Ensuring appeal deadlines are met and facilitating the arrangement of appeals through Sport Resolutions

Provide all necessary administrative support in relation to data subject access requests (“DSARs”) received by the LTA, including:

  • Recording all new DSARs on the LTA’s DSARs log and keeping it up to date
  • Providing a point of contact for the internal LTA colleagues (e.g. Technology, Safeguarding, etc) and external lawyers involved in dealing with and responding to DSARs
  • Liaising with the external lawyers with regard to appropriate search terms and which searches are required (electronic and/or manual) and liaising with appropriate internal LTA colleagues to arrange for them to be undertaken
  • Collating the search results (e-mails, documents, files, etc) and arranging for those to be transferred to the external lawyers for review and appropriate redactions
  • If not being sent by the external lawyers, arranging for the DSAR response to be sent to the data subject once finalised
  • Liaising with, and seeking guidance from, members of the Legal team as appropriate in relation to all of the above

Provide general administrative/secretarial support to the Legal and Safeguarding teams

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Relevant administration experience in a business environment
  • Experience of administering processes with accuracy and close attention to detail
  • Experience of working in an environment where discretion and confidentiality are important

Knowledge, Training & Qualifications:
