Leader of Football Performance Analysis & Insights

The Position:

These are your key tasks:

• Carry out the strategic leadership for the Football Performance Analysis & Insights team
• Lead the football technical analysis within FIFA in support of FIFA's confederations and member associations
• Plan and lead the implementation of all of FIFA's tournament football analysis delivery along with the content creation and delivery pre-, during and post-tournament
• Oversee the development of FIFA's football data collection process and methodology, continually developing the process and its capacity whilst maintaining the quality and reliability of all outputs
• Oversee and manage the processes for training and education of the FIFA Football Language
• Identify new areas where FIFA can impact the development of football around the world through Football Performance Analysis & Insights
• Investigate ways to develop, educate and certify football performance analysts on a global scale
• Lead and oversee the process of conceptualisation, development and deployment of all Enhanced Football Intelligence metrics
• Collaborate with FIFA's Football Technology & Innovation team and FIFA IT to keep up to date with technological advances in football analysis, data science and engineering solutions and developments
• Identify and manage technical experts for all FIFA tournament analysis projects
• Oversee and lead all dedicated member association support projects
• Lead the recruitment and hiring process of internal and external consultants along with managing and identifying individual development plans for all internal and external staff members
• Build, manage and maintain relationships with third-party hardware and software providers
• Negotiate and implement contracts with consultants and third-party providers
• Manage, control and plan yearly department budget allocation and oversight of all invoicing
• Continue to grow and develop the areas of performance analysis, data science and engineering in football

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

• Experience of leading a large team of specialists working on multiple concurrent projects
• Experience of leading a performance analysis team within professional football or other elite sporting environments
• Sound technical/tactical knowledge and understanding of football
• Good knowledge of performance analysis methods and processes
• MSc in Performance Analysis (or another sports-related field)
• Competent in business English; knowledge of other languages would be an asset
