FIFA and the Qatar LOC have created a new Joint Venture which will be responsible for the operational delivery of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The IT Infrastructure Manager is the focal point for all Infrastructure & Operations related deliverables of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC and is the key liaison with the central FIFA Infrastructure & Operations team. Acting as a ‘subject matter expert’ and facilitating the planning, design, implementation, testing and operational stages of delivery.
Key Responsibilities

- Ensure all aspects of the Infrastructure services (Wide Area Network, Broadcast Contribution Network, Event Network, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Digital Workplace, Spectrum, Radio, CATV/IPTV, Rate card, Audio and Video, Telecommunications, VoIP, End-user support) are implemented at the venues (starting from the Q22 offices) according to FIFA requirements
- Coordinate and follow-up with Host Country (HC) various providers, and government entities in relation to ensuring delivery of Infrastructure services as per agreed service levels
- Ensure that all information pertaining to infrastructure, services and spaces needed for the delivery and support of Infrastructure services are communicated to, and understood, by venue/site authorities and respective delivery teams
- Ensure all tasks and deliverables are completed to scope, within budget and on schedule
- Effectively manage stakeholders and perform adequate communication with relevant parties; especially providers and partners in incident and problem solving
- Active participation in venues visits/inspections to ensure: gap analysis (comparing FIFA requirements, with stadiums status), drawings and issues review, dependency management, (ensuring integration with other relevant areas, e.g power, containment, venue management, Host Country)
- Lead and design service solutions for IT end user equipment, including all items mapped in/from the TEAP (Technology Equipment Allocation Process), such as laptops, peripherals, TV, printing, consumables etc. Covering the onboarding of the service to the dissolution
- Collaborate on the definition of the Asset tracking and management of deployed equipment in all sites, starting with the Q22 Office
- Plan in collaboration with FIFA and the Host Country relevant parties (private and governmental) for the central support and monitoring of the network and services during the tournament and Competition Related Events
- Assist with managing the progress of structural build-out and infrastructure implementation leading up to the timely availability of components and services and including the commissioning and final decommissioning of the venues
- Support selection and onboarding of all Q22/FIFA infrastructure suppliers
- Support the IT master delivery plan
- Support the development of the IT readiness program, including test events and exercises, policies and procedures, training of the team and redeployment to the tournament time positions
- Lead a team of infrastructure specialists and coordinate with them all the infrastructure projects across the venues, from the planning, transition, acceptance, service delivery to implementation, operation and dissolution
- Ensure a seamless transition process from delivery to operation, onboarding services in the service catalogue and involving all relevant support teams in this process
- Develop regular progress, risk and issue management reports according to IT governance and keep counterparts aligned
- Contribute with the design of the IT services and operation (FWC IT Support Model)
- Ensure that all IT related services are being tracked in the ITSM and supported as per SLAs, as part of the IT support model
- Ensure positive attitude from the Infrastructure team and good relationship with all the parties, including FIFA teams, Q22 areas/projects, end-users, suppliers, Host Country in IT Infrastructure Implementation and operation
