We are looking for a HR Assistant to join our team. This is an ideal role for someone looking for start their career in HR and passionate to learn. You will play a vital role in supporting our recruitment and onboarding and employee lifecycle processes. You will need to be educated to GCSE level,  have some administration experience and be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.

1.     The Department

 Our Human Resources and Payroll Department plays a key role in delivering our ‘people’ strategy. We are focused on ensuring the Club has the right skills and resources in place to deliver an elite, high performance culture that drives our success both on and off the pitch. We provide support to over 1,000 staff Club-wide, and deliver a diverse range of activities across resourcing, employee relations, reward and benefits, employee engagement, talent, and people analytics.

 We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic Human Resources and Payroll Department.

 2.     The Role

This is an ideal role for someone looking to start their career in HR and gain administration experience. You will predominantly work on our recruitment and onboarding process, providing recruitment administration support including advising managers on recruitment campaigns, supporting with drafting job adverts/role profiles, posting jobs on job boards, and setting up interview arrangements. You will play a vital part in managing our onboarding process by drafting offer documentation, conducting pre-employment checks and being the first point of contact for our New Starters to ensure they are welcomed into the Club in the best possible way.

You will also provide first level HR support to our employees across the Club in areas such as annual leave, references and employee benefit queries. You will also support our employee lifecycle process by drafting documentation such as employment contracts, contract amendments, and processing maternity and paternity requests.

There will also be the opportunity to get involved and play an active role in supporting key HR projects and initiatives, for example, the co-ordination of the monthly HR and Payroll newsletter sharing key departmental updates across the Club.

 The role is based at full time onsite at Villa Park and you will need to be flexible to support occasional HR activities during evenings and weekends.

 3.     The Person

You will need to be educated to GCSE level (including Maths and English Grade C / Grade 4 or above) or equivalent. You will also need to have administration experience and be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.

 We are looking for a proactive, clear communicator with an aptitude for attention to detail, and someone who has a passion to learn about the HR function within the world of football. Student membership of the CIPD and some previous experience of working within an HR administration role along with handling sensitive, confidential personal information and data would be desirable but not essential.

 This will be a varied, fast-paced role so you will need to be organised and have an ability to juggle differing workload priorities whilst delivering exceptional customer service and solving problems.

 Ideally, you will also need to have access to a vehicle and / or the ability to travel between our Club sites; Villa Park, London Office and Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.
