The Opportunity
The Freelance Video Content Editor role is pivotal in helping us achieve that mission & deliver on the significant growth potential within the leagues & our clubs. Reporting into the Manager - Content Planning, we are looking for an experienced professional who has worked in a small, fast-paced Digital Content function. Working closely with the Manager - Content Planning and the entire Content Team, the Freelance Video Content Editor will be a skilled visual storyteller, who is able to combine the ability to work to tight deadlines and ensure quality output with each edit. The role will involve working primarily on weekends during the season and will need to be able to edit and manage content across digital and social channels. The Freelance Video Content Editor will also devise video ideas, supporting the requirements of the football season with evolving editorial plans that illustrate the great stories in the game. Whilst primarily focussing on editing a high volume of material ready for publication, the role will involve working within a content team that is multi-skilled and able to collaborate across a variety of skill sets, to ensure the highest standards of contemporary football storytelling. A focus on innovative tools and techniques, as well as pushing the boundaries of creativity means this role will require a candidate that is willing to learn as their environment evolves, to ensure the A-Leagues are always on the cutting edge of content creation.
The Responsibilities
- Shift-lead the clipping and editing of in-match video for distribution across A-Leagues and club channels.
- Ideate, plan and execute video content publishing that can live across all platforms.
- Plan and produce clips, packages and stories that ensure rich storytelling across the Australian football landscape.
- Edit feature material of varying themes, subject matter and duration.
- Work within a collaborative content team to plan and execute stories that resonate with the football audience.
- Collaborate with A-Leagues clubs across matchdays, ensuring they are provided video material that can be published across their channels on matchdays and during the week.
About You
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- 3+ years experience in a communications role.
- Experience working in a sporting environment, with matchday and events exposure.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent knowledge of Australian football, and a strong interest in global football.
- Good judgement, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment.
- Exemplary relationship building and management skills.
- Demonstrable ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience tracking and reporting on OKRs.
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive.
