Glasgow Life is looking for an Events Officer to join us on a full-time basis on a fixed term contract through to April 2024. As Events Officer you will be joining our in-demand Events team, part of the dedicated team that leads on the planning for the World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join the team in a key role within the organising committee structure – supporting the team across event delivery areas.

The Role:
Working as part of the governance functional area, this role will be key in coordinating centralised processes and supporting the Championships Director a variety of delivery areas including Workforce; Operational Planning; Governance and Administration. Essential for this role is a knowledge and understanding of administrative processes and event coordination ideally within the context of major sport events. This role will report into the Championships Director.
The Candidate:
If you’re interested in joining us as Events Officer you’ll need:
• An appropriate level of qualification/training or employment experience in cultural and/or sporting events sector and/or venue. (Essential) / HNC or HND Event Management or Administration or Business Management or equivalent / relevant degree (Desirable)
• Excellent administrative skills with proven experience and ability to use software packages such as Microsoft Word, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel to a professional standard. (Essential)
• Employment experience in cultural and/or sporting events (Desirable)
• Knowledge of the operational and delivery elements of events. (Desirable)
