Team and Job Overview

SPORTFIVE’S Experiential & Production division creates unique Experiences and Content to Make Fans Cheer for Rights Holders – including Properties, Leagues, Teams, Athletes – and Brands through Experiential Marketing, Live and Virtual Events, Sports Experiences and Content Production.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong desire to pursue a career in live events. This individual should have an interest in planning and producing events, with the desire to be extremely hands-on, seek out additional responsibilities, work well on a team and have the ability to function at a high-capacity in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end production process for live events, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to understand event objectives, requirements, and expectations.
  • Develop and manage event timelines, production schedules, and budgets, ensuring all deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate and oversee all technical aspects of live events, including audio, video, lighting, staging, and special effects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of production professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high-quality work and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with external vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of equipment and services.
  • Conduct site visits, assess venue capabilities, and coordinate logistics to ensure smooth event setup and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessment, and emergency procedures.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide effective solutions in real-time to minimize disruption and ensure a flawless event experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in event production and recommend innovative ideas to enhance event quality and efficiency.
  • Create CAD or Vectorworks Drawings, tracking documents and other work product as needed
  • Oversee budget tracking and reconciliation
  • Assist the wider team with RFP responses as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in the live events industry.
  • 4-6 years of previous work experience within the sports and/or events industry
  • Skills including budget creation, logistics planning and management and reconciliation
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Knowledge of Vectorworks
  • Knowledge of Lighting, Staging, Rigging, Audio, Video and Logistics
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using event production software and tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for event setup and execution.

Traits and Additional Qualifications

  • Understanding virtual events is a plus
  • Understanding of marketing, branding and comms strategies is a plus
  • Previous experience working nationally is a plus
  • Self-directed/self-starter individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, independent environment
  • Clear communicator with attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization

Job Requirements

  • Flexible and willing to work outside normal business hours (potentially mornings, evenings & weekends) and to travel nationally (potentially as high as 1/3 of the time during busy periods)
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Compensation
Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000

SPORTFIVE is providing the compensation range it might pay for this position. The rate of pay offered will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.

Affordable employee medical premiums starting at $30.90 per month (highest deductible) to $165.77 per month (lowest deductible).
Employees start at 10 vacation days per year (increasing with seniority) plus 20 paid holidays.
401(k) with matching up to $4,000 per year.
